We are wanting to take our 9yr old DD on her first visit to USH on our March trip. We have been before and think she'll enjoy the backlot tour and shows, but we probably won't do the rides, as she's not a thrill rider.

My questions are, will the Simpson's ride be in soft openings in late March?

Is spending $52 each for 2 days at USH a good buy?

I thought we could do USH and depending on the spring break crowds go back a second day to redo the backlot tour or whatever shows we wanted and take in City Walk.

We are familiar with Orlando's Downtown Disney, so not sure how much time City Walk will hold our or especially our DD's attention.

I've heard some buzz that it is not until April/May.

I personally find that there is not much to do at USH. The backlot tour is nice, but other than that- what else is there to do??? A couple of shows, 5 rides or so? Citywalk is pretty cool, but not much else to do there either. There are movies, a couple of stores and some restaurants.

There are some kid friendly attractions at USH, but I really don't think there are still that many things to do there.

Yup im gonna agree with everything you said!!! The Simpsons ride is supposed to open in the spring time April/May. I betcha the lines will be pretty intense though for that ride for quite some time.

When we go we like doing the back lot tour. Thats really fun, and a few of the rides are decent such as Jurassic Park. But we also like to take our time and take pictures and pose in crazy poses in different areas just to pass the time away. A few things though that I particularily enjoy is the Waffle Cart where Donkey comes out and you can have a chat session with Donkey from Shrek. The Shrek 4D show is really cute and a must see, On weekends in one corner of USH there is a booth set up where you can make a movie called "Dance Heads". You choose a song and a body and they super impose your head onto the body and you bob your head to the song while this animated body dance. Its quite funny and we do this every time we go.

Then the Universal City Walk has some really cool shops and restarunts and its a great place to kick around and spend a few hours. We like doing some shopping, taking in a movie, and this year when we go, we are going to the new indoor sky diving adventure that opened a few months back.
