Hi Everyone,

I am so stuck I am trying to plan a day at either IOA or US. I have a 2 DS, 4 DS and 8 DD years old. I am not sure which park to go too?

Also, is there character dining lunch or dinner? Any suggestions on how to view the park. example go to such and such first.....Seems like there is so much advise for Disney but not this topic. I would really be thankful.

There will be more rides your young kids can take part in at IOA (mainly in Seuss Landing), but the play areas for young kids is better at US. Even your 8 yr old will like parts of it. I'd probably pick US if I had to pick just one.

if my kids were that young, i would do the studios for the day.
there is one section over by ET for littles. all of them at their ages can enjoy that.

they would like the animal planet live show also.
if there are not afraid of loud noises, jimmy neutron would be good. they have stationary seats where you could sit with the littles/2 & 4

the seussland in IOA would be wonderful for all of your kids.
lots to do in that section.

there is a character breakfast over at IOA at confisco. many are impressed with the amount of time the characters spend with each child. each on site hotel has character dining also on specific days.

at IOA at specific times, the superheroes ride into the area by the spiderman ride. they pose for pictures, sign autographs. you can buy the pics if you choose to.

for a touring plan, we can come up with something but need some more info.
are you staying on site? if you are the fotl will be great for the family.
stayingn off site, then be at the parking garage early, 8 am if possible.

when is your trip planned?
certain foods your family enjoys?
cs or ts preference?
staying off site or on site?

Hi I am Kaite [the eldest in the photo below]. Personaly I like IOA better because there are more rides and things to do there. US is more of the "park you do once" type of park. There are a few rides and attractions for kids like the animal planet live, woody the woodpeckers nuthouse coaster (name explains it all :rotfl: ), Barney(is more like a show), Curious George play area, Jimmy Neutron, ET and the men in black alien attack. There are some more but I just can't remeber because we usually go to IOA. At Islands of adventure there is Seuss Landing (all for kids :thumbsup2 ), Jurassic Park, Marvel Super Heros, and The Lost Contenent. The one ride that is a must get on ride is The Cat In The Hat. It is one of the most memorable rides you will ever get on. Well I hope I helped :thumbsup2 ,
Kaite:cutie:

I think there are more actusl rides your little ones will be able to ride. ET, Jimmy Neutron, Shrek, Jaws, A Day with Barney, Curious George area, Woody Coaster, Fievels playland, MIB, The Nick characters like Dora, rugrats, scooby, jimmy nuetron, spongebob and many more.

Universal would be my vote but they would more than likely enjoy either or.

I'll second for US for the OP.....Studios has the "edge".....

My daughter has been going to both parks since she was 3. She is six now and can enjoy a lot of rides at both parks. Suess landing in IOA has rides that will work for all your kids even the two year old. Here is a list of rides my daughter enjoyed when she was four. At four she enjoyed rollcoasters but didn't care for the loud noises in alot of the attractions at universal.

IOA
Cat in the hat
Red fish blue fish
Caro-Suess-el
If I ran the zoo - This is a explore and play area
Suess trolly - 34'' This a newer ride
Flying Unicorn - 36''
Pteranodon Flyers - 36''
Camp Jurassic Play area
Jurassic discover center - (They named a baby dino after her)
Spiderman - 40'' (Scared her at first but she continued to ride it)

Universal
Jimmy Neutron
ET
Barney Show
Woody WoodPecker Coaster - 36''
Fivel Play area
Curious George Play area - This is a wet play area

Having been with my DS 2 and DS 4 , I agree with Studios.

But either is great.

and you might consider hitting IOA just for a couple of rides at the beginning of the day then heading to the Studios. they are very walkable. everything is compact at Universal, unlike WDW.

I would have to vote UA. We took our DD who was 5 at the time to both UA and IOA, she liked UA, but only liked the Suess landing area of IOA ... she even got scared when we walked through some of the areas of IOA (really scared of dino's for some reason).

Anyway, we just got back 2 weeks ago (DD is 10 now) and did both parks multiple times, she really liked IOA much better this time ... more "water" rides and rides for "bigger kids" at IOA. The only rides she would not go on in either park was Dragons and Hulk ... but neither would my DW. I had to go alone ... We stayed at HRH, so had fast pass, no problem going alone, family did not need to wait very long for me to get my fix!! :cool2:
