New Years Eve fell on a Sunday this year. This had the effect of crowded parks on Jan 1st, 2nd and 3rd (a rainy day at that). The 4th was closer to the way I had expected it to be.
I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and observed that the Magic Kingdom parking lots stayed pretty full.
My observation was that there were a lot of people from a variety of other countries but especially from the UK. It got to the point where I started wondering if Orlando was actually located just outside of London.
So crowd wise I'd say New Years Eve on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday would lead to bigger crowds hanging around after the holidays. I would guess that New Years Eve falling on Tuesday through Friday will lead to lesser crowds. And watch the dollar versus foreign currency. Right now we are weak meaning great vacations in Florida for international visitors.
PS. If I were a Universal shareholder I'd be a happy camper.
