Universal STudios Gift Cards From Walmart

Has anyone seen the Universal Gift cards at walmart? Do you know if they can be used at citywalk for hard rock or margaritaville, or are they only good inside the parks or for tickets. We are going in a couple of weeks and I think that my mom got us one.

They can only be redeemed for Universal bucks at Guest Services. I am not pleased with the cards. I would expect them to work like other giftcards where you just buy things and the amount is deducted from the balance of the card. Unfortunately, that is not how they work. You redeem the card for Universal bucks and then use the bucks to buy things. The only place you can actually buy tickets with them is at Guest Services and possibly the ticket booths. You can't use them in the stores for purchases.

Couple more ?s to clarify.

So you're talking Universal bucks ala Disney Dollars?

Not valid in stores, are they good @ the in-park dining venues, CS or TS?

Do you know if they will work on-line @ Univ. site for tix purchases?

My sister gave me 3 for Christmas, she said she bought them at Publix and that they were good anywhere at USF/IOA with the exception of Emeril's. She did mention something about having to take them to guest services to redeem for cash if I wanted to use them at Emeril's. But to tell you the truth, I have not really read the card to see what it says yet........
I would love more info too!

You can use them at the ticket booths and Guest services. They cannot be used to purchase merchandise or food. To purchase merchandise/food you must redeem the card for universal dollars at Guest services.

The Universal bucks can then be used almost everywhere except Emerils and third party vendors.
