Universal Studios from Pop Century - How?

I am staying at Pop Century in a week with my family, we were hoping to have a few days at Universal as well this year, problem is we wont have our own transport, (most of the vacation is at Disney hence why we are at a Disney Resort) and wont have a hire car. I was intending taking a cab, does anyone have an Idea of the cost, or a better suggestion on how to get there. Thanks for all your help.

while i don't think Universal requires more than 2 days, if you're doing 2 or more days, i'd suggest getting a hotel either near there or looking into the option of getting on site for a night which will give you 2 days of FOTL access.

a cab/car's gonna run you $50-$70 roundtrip. mears will shuttle you for $16 per person roundtrip.

Unfortunately we are booked up at Pop Century already, so staying closer isn't an option this time (worth thinking about for the future though).

We have a 3 day pass for the parks, (they gave us a day free) so the cab fare will probably sting us too much. Do you know where the shuttle leaves from, and will the disney concierge arrange it for us- or are they not too keen on helping us visit the competition?

Once you get to the POP Century you can contact Mears Transportation from the resort. You make arrangements with them for the shuttle to Universal. They have a selections of times that they pick up, you chose the one you want and they will pick you up at the POP, most likely out front by the lobby.
I think that when you are ready to return you call mears about an hour or so before you want to leave and they will pick you up at Universal.
