A friend wants to go to Disney World for 3 nights, then on check out day spend the day at Universal Studios before taking a late flight back home. If you were doing this, where would you store your luggage? Would you leave it at the WDW resort and then circle back to pick it up on the way to the airport? The flight is at 8pm so I'm thinking the entire plan sounds very tight as far as timing but I think they are set on doing this.

Thanks for any recommendations!

I'd use the Hard Rock Hotel (assuming they let non-guests store luggage). Universal is 20 minutes (depending on traffic, 15 miles) from the airport. Disney is 30 minutes (about 25 miles, depending on which hotel). So for me, you're better off with a Universal hotel. When you're done with your Universal day you could walk or take a boat to the hotel, pick up the luggage and be at the airport in under an hour. With a Disney hotel, you'd need to drive there - 30 or 40 minutes - get the luggage and then drive to the airport. Either way the timing is going to be very tight, but if the Universal hotels allow left luggage it might be a little easier.

Universal park itself does have lockers, but I don't know if they're big enough for luggage. Here's the specs from their website:

  • Large lockers measuring 12” x 13” x 16.9” are available to rent near the park entrances of Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure.
  • Family-size lockers measuring 12” x 16.25” x 16.9” are available at Universal Studios Florida.

Thank you! I'll have them check with Hard Rock. Also if they want express pass and with limited park time they'll have, maybe they will just get a room there for one night.

If they rent a car they can just leave the luggage in the car.

They could make a reservation at Portofino, with 1 day 3 park ticket + express pass that comes with the hotel it would be $1,952.86. They would be able to store their bags. That's a lot for 1 day if you ask me.

Just the tickets for them to 3 parks and limited express pass would be $2034.06.

Plus they pay for parking, though.

Park tickets:
$788.08 Adult Total
$383.39 Child Total
