Universal strategy

I’m trying to figure out the best strategy for Universal. I’ve never been to the Nintendo area and I already have my power up band and I want to make sure to do everything there. I am not going to splurge on the early entry to the land. I’m curious how good the single rider line is for the Mario Kart ride and if you miss any of the experience? I’m thinking everyone probably goes there first so the best strategy may be to do everything else in the morning and just deal with the Nintendo crowds later. Thoughts?

Btw I want to do Jurassic World, Mummy, and Forbidden Journey at least a few times each and also probably the studio tour and maybe a couple other rides

I've never personally used the single rider line on Mario Kart, you might miss the queue if care about that, but you don't skip any of the ride. My experience has been that the park tends to have the shortest lines in the morning and the gets worse in the afternoon (like Disneyland), so it's probably better to do the popular rides in the morning. I'm not sure if you'll be able to do all those rides multiple times in one day, it depends on how busy it is I suppose. We were there Saturday March 8 afternoon and Friday March 14 afternoon and all the wait times were like 45 minutes+.

Start at Nintendo, and then do all of the rides on the lower plaza. Then do the studio tour, and save shows and upper plaza rides after. We love Water World and HP land in the afternoon.

Is there a preshow for Mario Kart?
I mean kinda, but nothing that I would worry about missing. There are basically 2 rooms that happen before you get on the ride and they show some videos. It just shows how the ride works and also a little "backstory" about how there's Team Mario vs Team Bowser and the winning team gets a trophy.
