Slightly non Disney but indulge me if you can...has anyone done US Singapore and can you provide your views, tips ? Will be going up to Singapore f1 GP in sept and will most likely check it out but keen to hear first hand views...

Having lunch next week with someone who went after Xmas with their 2 under 12 year olds so can ask him. I know one of the girls and him loved the really fast rides whereas his wife and daughter no 2 were more into the tame ones..but he hasn't been to US in the US so not much use for you comparison wise which I presume is what you really want to know. They had a ball on the Segways too.

I went last February while in Singapore as I was keen to check it out. It was handy that I'd just been to US Orlando the previous October (4 months before) so I had a fairly direct comparison. I feel that is a half a day, maybe a 3/4 day park. It was not as good and is smaller than US Orlando. However not every one can get to LA or Orlando so its still a fun option for families visting Singapore.

Thanks for this info travel mum. Have been to both la and Orlando versions so this helps put it in perspective . Did you go midweek or w/e? Crowds? Is it easy to get to?

I just checked and we went on 25 Feb which was a Saturday. It was just my sister and I, so no kids with us, as I took her up to SIN with me on a quick 3-night trip. I didn't think the crowds were too bad from memory.

Oh and yes it's very easy to get to. We just took the MRT to Harbourfront Station which comes in underneath the Vivo City shopping mall. From there you can get over to Sentosa in a few ways. The day before we'd been over for me to do some hotel inspections so, that day, we choose to walk across on the Travellator. On the day we did Universal, we just went up to the 3rd level of VivoCity and got on the Sentoa Express which is a little train-like transfer. There is also a free Universal Shuttle Service from the CBD to Universal (must show your passport because its only for foreign tourists). Sentosa Island and Resorts World in particular are well-oiled, slick operators for tourism that's for sure! :rotfl2:

Do you know that Universal Studios Singapore is not operated by the U.S. company that runs Orlando and LA? It's run by Resorts World and I think that's one of the reasons it feels different.

Thanks Aussie Wendy

No they do a tour along the beaches. Sentosa seems to be have been totally reinvented since we were there last-I don't think I'd recognise most of it. Certainly nothing looked familiar from our friend's pics.
