You might want to post this on the Universal Boards. There are plenty of people who know lots about those two parks. This board is mainly about Walt Disney World parks.

Ok. I will get you started with some suggestions as far as Harry Potter things.

1. Hogs head hanging on the wall in the Hogs Head Pub in Hogsmeade.

2. Large cauldron hanging in the fire place in the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley.

3. Parseltongue Snake in Diagon Alley. Side window of Magical Menagerie.

4. Shrunken Heads in Knockturn Alley.

5. Chocolate frogs and Bertie Botts at Honeydukes Hogsmeade.

6. Pygmy Puff Weasleys Wizarding Wheezes Diagon Alley.

7. Death Eaters mask at Filch's Emporium Hogsmeade

8. Hagrid's hut in Hogsmeade

9. Mandrake in window of Dogweed & Deathcap in Hogsmeade


Large hanging shark at Universal studios. In San Francisco area near Chez Alcatraz.

Lard Lad donut statue in Simpsons area Universal.

That sounds like tons of fun! How about the pressed penny machines, some of the specialty Universal themed candy bars ( Songebob's white chocolate pineapple bar with pineapple bits, Simpson's choco bacon bar) references to Disney in shrek queue, terminator in the terminator gift shop. Some of the characters Betty Bop, Scooby and the gang, Hello Kitty.

Toon Lagoon
1. Find the Family Circus cartoon
2. Count how many dogs are in the fountain
3. Take a pic underneath "I'm going to need a vacation from this vacation"
4. Locate the home of the Dagwood
5. Follow the dotted path to see where it goes

There are some cool photo ops at the parks. One thing you can do before you go is go onto googlemaps and "walk" though a lot of the parks. You can find things to include in your scavenger hunt.

I downloaded it a few years ago from a now defunct website (thanks to the original poster). Did this with my kids and took a group picture at every one we found. A couple don’t exist any more (like the Spiderman phone number). A couple of years after we did it, I finally stumbled upon Plymouth rock. I’ll never tell. The numbers are point values for team competition. The original pdf was in spreadsheet table format.


Get the phone number for the closed theater in New York City. 30

There are loads of hidden details in both parks, street front windows in the studios in particular, and the entire Port of Entry area in Islands of Adventure, but other areas like Marvel, Potter, Toon Lagoon, and Jurassic Park all have neat hidden references and things to find, these parks are a gold mine for a scavenger type hunt.

A few off the top of my head, the love birds, Cat Balcony, escaped prisoner, "mini-monestary", fire brigade and more in IOA port of entry. Hollywood Blvd shop windows that have cool teddy bears and doll houses, outfits, and more.

Piano that plays Popeye's theme song. word balloons in Toon Lagoon. Amber mine caves in Camp Jurassic, Horton's Egg, Once-ler's House, Dr. Suess himself, and Zax By Pass in Suess, Dragon Eggs in Harry Potter, donut on a reporters desk (marvel), Island medallions on the front gate of Islands.

Large Super-hero displays, the artist hid his first name (Adam) in every one...those can be tricky to find.
