So here is our story, we RV from Canada all summer (I’m a teacher), we love camping in Florida, we are trying Universal for the first time (no Disney this time), so after reading everyone’s words of wisdom from the DIS this is my plan for Me, husband, 2 girls (10 & 13), 2 dogs, a lizard and a hermit crab.....

I decided that with my 15 year anniversary on July 19th we would splurge for a one night stay at RPR (booked yesterday)

July 18th - arrive and camp at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake for all 4 nights

July 19th - check in at RPR at 7:00 am so can use the express pass all day at the Studios park
- the girls really check into room hopefully around 12:00 for lunch/swim/nap, while dad goes to RV to get the dogs
- back to Studios for the afternoon/night

July 20th - Islands with early entry and express pass, do Potter first
- check out of hotel at 11:00, girls have lunch while dad takes dogs back to RV (I know dad is getting the raw deal, oh well I do ALL the planning)
- finish day at Islands

July 21st - another day at the parks ????

So have you gathered by now I am one of those Disney fanatic planners, I am still in the day planning stage have not even got to what rides to go on and in what order……..so here are a few questions…..

1) Anyone stay or know of Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake RV park …… really how far a drive to RPR (I know what mapquest says)

2) I did a dog search on here, I know these hotels are very dog friendly, can you REALLY leave your dogs in the room, with the dog sign up and go to the parks?

3) When we check out at 11:00 on the 20th, while poor dad has to drive the dogs back to the RV can the girls still use the pool?

4) So my big question….to save a little money getting 3 day base tickets for Universal (July 19), Islands (July 20) but not sure what to do our final day……Universal or Islands…..is there any way to JUST upgrade the 3rd day to park to park????

Thanks, as always for everyone’s ideas :worship:

I'll answer the questions I can...

1) BF Park is a short drive to RPR...probably 10 minutes...maybe 15 if the traffic is bad. From BFP...make a left on Hiawassee...another left on Conroy Windermere and a right on Turkey Lake Road. Then a left on Hollywood Way.

4) You get upgrade at Guest Services before you leave the park on your third day. You'll pay whatever the difference is between the base ticket and the park to park.

Yes, you can leave your dogs in your room, as long as they are not going to be bothering the other guests on the floor. So, if they are quiet dogs who are used to be left alone, there shouldn't be an issue.

Yes, you can leave your dogs in the room while you go to the park. We left ours there last year and will again this year. Most guests weren't bothered by the dogs. We only met one guest who was afraid of dogs.

As long as the dogs don't disturb other guests, they are fine to be left alone. They will give you a sign to hang on the door but I called the front desk each day to make sure no one came in.

I can take a few -- 2) Yes, you can leave the dogs while you go to the parks IF they aren't barking. If they are yappie dogs and disturb the other guests, the hotel will fine you. If you go to the Loews site, there is information about the fines and 'time outs' for your dogs if they are excessively barking. I've left my dogs which are larger dogs that don't bark much and they were more than fine. They were quite comfortable and happy. :goodvibes

3) Yes, you can use the pool the entire day you checkout. We LOVE the pool at RPR and spend a good bit of time there so don't be surprised if your girls love it and want to do the same. Although July is awful hot, even in the pool!

As far as your other plans, they look great! You've done a great thing getting a room for a night. You can wait and see where you want to go on the third day. I always like a third day to do repeats at both parks. Only other suggestion I'd have is to make sure you visit WWOHP at night. It is so nice the last few hours of the day! I usually recommend hoppers so you can hit it a couple of times at night.
