Hi there,
We are booking a room online through the Universal Orlando website for 4 adults for 2 nights. On the page where you select your hotel it says:

“Select your hotel accommodations below. The Price Guide is for reference only. Prices listed are per person, based on double occupancy, and include hotel accommodations and hotel taxes. Your vacation price may increase or decrease based on the number of people in your traveling party and the items you select. You will receive your final vacation price after you complete building your vacation.”

Based on this and the fact it is listing at Hard Rock Room at $272 per night - so the total should be in the ballpark of $1088. (2 couples x $272 x 2 nights) or even $2176 (4 adults x $272 x 2 nights)

Toward the end of the reservation process on the screen where you enter the names of the 4 adults and credit card info the actual total is just $663.

Is this normal for the price difference to be so large from the initial quote page? We are meeting up with another couple for a quick trip and just want to make sure that our share won't jump from $331 to $1088!

Thanks!

I'm not sure I follow you, but my guess is that they would put 4 adults in two rooms. If that's the case and the $663 represents the total for a two-night stay, then that means the cost per night is $331.50 and the cost per room is $165.75. You can sometimes get HRH rooms for that, althou I admit I haven't seen it lately. Maybe you're going at a particularly slow time?

As to the "per person double occupancy" part, maybe that applies to certain packages, where other elements like tickets and airfare are included. Usually room-only quotes are for the room, not per person.

Are you booking one or two rooms? Is it the room only or are you booking a package that includes tickets? If you are booking two rooms for two nights and it doesn't include tickets, each room would probably cost somewhere between $150-$275 per night - not per person. Therefore, each room would cost around $300-$550. If you are booking a package that includes tickets, the price would be higher (but shouldn't equal as much as you are estimating. You can buy tickets by themselves for $99 per person). Hope this helps!

My room rate I was looking up was 149.00 for HRH, though now it is 169.00 (since 4th day free)

Thanks everyone!

We are just booking just one room (just the room - no tickets needed) The room descriptions say that it can accomodate 4 adults (two of the adults live in Orlando so they are booking us at the Florida Residents rate... they may not even sleep in the room... they just want to be able to share in the front of the line access!)

Thanks!
