For anyone who has recently visited UO, could you tell me what the food prices/ selection is at the parks? Are there alot of choices? Is the food the typical theme park price? If anyone has any suggestions or strategies, please share. We are heading down in 10 days and I would like to have some type of itinerary for our 2 days at Universal. Thanks!

Nothing spectacular stands out inside either park, typical theme park food (Pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers) although there are a couple of great resturants (Mythos in IOA and another one bythe Dr. Seuss area that has the
charachter breakfast) the kids unlimited food bracelet is always a good shot if you have little ones, they can eat as much as they want and again, the food is passable. The real food seach is in Citywalk. Margaritaville is always a home run, Pastamore, and even the nascar cafe has some decent food on the menu. You can also try Pat Obrian's or Bubba Gumps resturant for laughs. If you want elegant, try Emeril's resturant on Citywalk (reservations a must) or the Tchop Tchop resturant at the royal pacific resort. Hope this helps.:cool1:

i have not had a bad meal in the parks at universal.
some of the menus and prices are on allears site.

you can get about anything you like at the parks.
enchanted oak grill at ioa has roitissiere chicken, ribs, corn on cob, sandwiches, salads, etc.

a nice place to be when it is hot outside, low lights inside or if you chose to, you can eat outside in the back patio.

richters: burgers and chicken sandwiches. fixing bar goes with over at the studios side.

international film and food festival in the studios is a hit. 4 different styles of food. american, chinese, etc.

the fried chicken dinner is very good.

what type of food are you looking for?
the food you find in universal has flavor and is good. it has the basic park type of food of burgers, fries, pizza, hot dogs, but there is a lot more depending on what you are interested in.

the fire eaters grill has gyros, the best!, dogs, etc.

? Do you need Priority Seatings for any restaurants at citywalk or the hotels?
I checked out the menus...
are there character meals?

each hotel on site has character meals.
think rph this summer has monday, tuesday and saturday for character meals. on the other nights, each hotel has a different theme for dinners.

they are not bad.

i have done the super heroes breakfast with my sons when they were younger at IOA. confisco grille

the food was ok. not bad, but not excellent.
the character interaction is super.....

spidey talks to the kids, poses for pictures and spends a lot of time with them. that alone was worth it for me. the time and individual attention is what i was thrilled with. (not that the characters spent time with me, but my boys.)

you make advance ressie for this one. some of the regular posters on the uo forums have been to this one also and more recent than i have. think tarheelmjfan was one that liked it a lot.

We won't be able to do Character Meal this time--we will be there Monday night-Wednesday and the meals are Thurs to Sun! Oh well, maybe next time! I was thinking of doing dinner our first night at either RPH (Islands for character) or Margaritaville...
