Still trying to plan our itinerary - if we went on the Friday - the first night of HHN on 20th September and weren't planning to go to HHN, how busy would the park be in the daytime?

We had originally planned Magic Mountain on the Saturday and then US on the Monday following, but believe MM is quieter on a Sunday and don't know if we can handle MM and USH on two consecutive days, so wondered if Friday USH and then MM Sunday would be a better plan?

Not very busy at all.

i'm hoping i'll get a similar response for a monday mid october? not too busy?

we get to LA on friday morning 18th oct (from australia), what would our chances be of getting tickets to the HHN that night?

i dont want to pre-purchase them in case we're not up to it after the flight.

That will be a very busy weekend. It might sell out Friday night.

Did you go? Who were the crowds?

Just got back home yesterday after three weeks away - didn't go on the Friday in the end but chose the two Mondays we were staying in Hollywood instead.

First Monday was pretty quiet and we managed to do everything - longest wait was Simpsons (posted 30 minutes actually 15!). The second Monday was a little different - longer waits - glad we had seen all the shows the week before (although we did see the 'Animal Actors' show again.) Waited for what seemed like forever on the Simpsons - in reality probably around 45mins or so. Biggest disappointment was not getting a cold beer at Mulligans Irish pub - we went towards the end of the day but they had already closed!

Biggest mistake of the entire vacation though was going to Magic Mountain on a weekend when park wasn't open in the week - lines of over an hour on every ride - it was mobbed - never again as didn't like the park at all.
