Hi!

So going to Universal wasn't on the radar until 2022 at best. The plan was to go next year in the fall but with COVID/postponed wedding ect, we were going to push it out another year.

My soon to be husband just got word that his conference will be at Disney in June. I'll have a couple of days of free time and most likely will be hitting Universal as I already have the 2 park 2 day +2 days free one park pass.

We will be going in June and the week seems moderate for crowds from years passed. Should I spent the $89 one day and do the express for either Universal or Island of Adventure?

Thanks!

We went for the first time this summer. I will say that the Express Pass really helped especially in the summer months. Some of the lines were outside due to social distancing and EP allowed us to walk inside to wait in MUCH shorter lines.

With four days-I'd wait and see how crowds are. Several rides have a single rider line (that will hopefully be open by then) so you may be able to zip through anyway. You can also buy express day of if you get there and see huge lines (be aware that it may be more expensive by then, or sold out). However-with that many days your best bet is to get there early (rope drop procedure but at universal lol) and get the headliners first.
Express is wonderful-but some attractions the story of the ride is told in regular line and makes the ride a bit more fun. Men In Black is one I can think of that the regular line really adds to the "story", Mummy has some cool interactive features. And first time through Forbidden Journey and Gringotts definitely go through regular line once.
It is possible the new Velocicoaster will be open then and that could draw huge crowds too-just says "summer 2021" for opening right now so who knows.
