Hi All,

So yesterday I got the Tiffany ring; now I just need to work out where I'm presenting it!

My partner is quite shy and really won't want a overly dramatic proposal in front of huge crowds; which isn't great when we're going in July. However; I would ideally like to propose at US or IOA; but struggling to think of somewhere where we're likely to get 2 minutes alone!

Does anyone having any suggestions of a quieter place?

I've spoken to Universal and apparently they're unable to get involved; presumably because I'm sure there are plenty of other's who ask the same thing!!!

Thanks,

It’s usually quiet behind Mythos and Jurassic Park Discovery building......both have the lagoon as a backseat and it’s very pretty.......

We went down behind the JP building during Spring Break in March and it was deserted........

Oh, I forgot.......Congratulations........party:

Hope it goes well......::yes::

My only other thought was to try and get a private carriage on the Hogwarts Express; I did speak to customer services and they said whilst this might be possible; it would be down to the decision of the ride attendant and how busy it was. My girlfriend; no idea how I'd do that without giving the game away.

July would be practically impossible I would have thought to get a carriage on your own.........

It’s mobbed! And yes, would ruin the surprise........

Have you studied the park maps and looked at online pictures........there’s plenty of trip reports on here right now that have loads of park pictures.

It's not actually July; it's May but she might read this thread... I think I've disguised enough. If you are reading this though... "Hi Hunny!!" :teeth:

How exciting!! Congratulations!! Please let us know the details and pictures!!

I asked my wife in the little park area along the lagoon by the Back to the Future Delorian and train. I wasn't sure where I was going to do it, but she wanted to grab a pretzel at a stand right near the Delorian and was looking for somewhere to sit down. I suggested we go down in the park and find a bench. It was empty and a nice setting.

A few nice places in Central Park
There is a walkway and benches along the way
Some in shade
You would be facing the water area

At IOA, behind the potter main eatery has a patio in the back and usually quiet

The walkway from city walk to rpr has spots that are quiet
Foliage is beautiful

Just a few suggestions

Be forewarned- My sister and I were there (so 2 adult women) a few months ago and there was no line for the train when we rode it and they had empty holding areas and put us with a group of 4 others. I asked the attendant if we could be moved to one of the empty ones and I was told they were no longer allowed to put only 2 people in a car by themselves. I was not given an explanation, though I'm sure there's a very good story behind that, but told it was an official policy. Obviously your experience may differ but I wanted to warn you not to count on being able to be by yourselves even if it isn't at all busy.

Good luck!!

Quiet areas in Islands of Adventure:

Port of Entry near the water (smoking areas are in this location too)
Sneetch Beech behind Green Eggs and Ham Café
Area behind Mythos
The bridge in Hogsmeade
The front area of the Jurassic Park River Adventure (smoking area here too)
The walkway beside the water near Popeye (also a smoking area)
The area near the water by the Captain America Diner (smoking area in this area too)
Area behind Sinbad Stunt show and the Mystic fountain (between shows)

Quiet areas Universal Studios Florida:

Area near the big stage in the Production Central area if there is not a concert going on (forgot what the stage is called)
New York stage area beside Jimmy Fallon
Outside area beside and behind Ritcher's Burgers
Blue Brothers stage area by Finnegan's (between Blues Brothers shows)
Walkway between Transformers and Mel's Diner
Central Park area
Garden of Allah area by E.T. Adventure

Personally, the more romantic areas are:

Islands of Adventure:
Any location by the water and away from smoking

Universal Studios Florida:
Central Park
New York City stage area
Garden of Allah

I hope that helps!

I know if you go out the back door of the Discovery Center. There’s a nice patio overlooking the lagoon, low walls to sit on and it was almost empty the last time we went. Also, there is an area behind Mythos, and Central Park you may find a spot.
Your best bet for less crowds is at park open or late at closing time.

Also, book a room at the Portofino for some "after proposal entertainment." ;)

Op

I hope you return and tell us how the proposal went once you return from your vacation

Now I’m sure she will say yes but we need to know which location you popped the question

Wishing you a life time of happiness with her!

Here are images of the quiet scenes we found this trip on a very busy day.........

Thank you all. I will return and update! I've had the ring resized and am awaiting it's delivery. Now I've just got to try and contain myself and realise I've only got a few weeks to wait; rather than doing it before hand!
