Does universal have their own photographers around the parks like Disney do? If so how does that work - I gather they dont do anything like disneys photopass?

They take your pic and give you a "claim ticket" you bring that ticket to the fron of the park and if you like the pic, buy it!

I have only seen them at the gates, not around the rest of the park with the characters like Disney.

look at the park guide for ioa when you enter for the times and places of the characters
look for the marvel super heroes.........
i know they arrive on atms to the spidey ride area at 3 daily.

the photographers are there taking pics for you and giving you the claim ticket so you can buy it..
they are there for a long time.

i have seen them at other locations but can't remember at this moment.
my blondeness is coming through.

I know I saw them somewhere else too the last time I was at USF but I too am having a blonde moment!

I've only seen them outside of Universal and inside the gates of IOA. They aren't as annoying as some photographers I've seen.

There were photogs over at US by the Madagascar characters.

On Photopass, you can order a disc with all of your pictures on cd for about $100. At universal, not only can you NOT view them online, but the pictures are only available (at least per the photographers) at the park, and they are like $23-25 each. Also, they give you a paper claim ticket, which we found tends to get really really wet - especially at Islands. We found that the digital camera we took was DEFINITELY more "worth it" than having to deal with the photographers (who we found VERY pushy about taking our pictures).

Just an FYI
