It has been such a long time since I have gone but we are thinking of visiting Universal soon for a 2 day to see if I can manage it ahead of a possible longer trip next year.

I remember going when there were disability front of line access and even then it was tough on me, jiust so much walking to even get to the front of the park if I remember correctly. It's been a long while since then and now I am feeling skittish. I wonder, what is the best way to manage the Universal Parks these days? Is one hotel better than the others for a person who can only take so many steps in a day? How about the disability access? Does the Universal version help, is it complicated? Would staying at one of the premium hotels plus whatever the Universal Disability Assistance is help more? I want to go but I really don't want to be miserable

Universal access for disabilities is actually not bad at all. We set up one for my sister. She got a note from her doctor and submitted it. She stated the process was easy. What hotel is best for you depends on your needs. The hotels do have have rooms set up for those with mobility challenges. At Sapphire falls, The beds are lower to the ground and very comfortable. The shower was very large and there were no obstacles. My dad loved the room. Our only issue was the distance from the lobby. I would ask for a room closer to the lobby. The boats and buses are well prepared. And the teams members are fantastic.

In the parks, we had no issues getting relatives with mobility issues on the rides. The only ride where there was an issue was the Hogwarts express when you are going from Hogsmeade to Diagon Alley. The team kept sending guests to the stairs who could not navigate the stairs. They need to reroute to the elevators. but there were no team members at the base of the stairs. For the most part out negative problems with lines were not the the rule but the exception.

If you have any problems, let guest relations know. They are extremely helpful.

Spent two days at Universal to try it out and it worked out well for me, I will go back as long as the supports they have now continue. I got the Dr note and after reading a bit on the topic, when I got the call I focused descriptions on the non physical aspects of my disability (which is counter intuitive but OK, whatever you want to do) and this seems to be what they want to hear about.
