Universal Orlando Gift Cards

I noticed that Giagle Eagle sells Universal Orlando Gift cards. I didn't get a chance to read the details, but it mentioned something about turning them in upon arrival for Universal bucks.

Has anyone used the $25 gift cards. Can they be used at the Hard Rock or Margarittavile? I am assuming we could use them at Louie's in Universal Studios for lunch.

You have to redeem them at Guest Services for Universal dollars. They can't be used like a credit card. Once redeemed for Universal bucks you can use the Universal dollars at Louies or Margaritaville.

Thanks Phantom...We were going to buy the kiddos a $25 US gift card at Walmart here so they have their own money. I guess now we will just hold off and buy Universal dollars at guest services when we get there!

Just to make sure I understand. I can buy these cards at my local Giant Eagle. I then turn them in an Universal ticket window for Universal Bucks. I just want to be sure I can use these bucks at the CityWalk Restaurants such as Hard Rock Cafe Margaretaville and Louis Pizza place inside USF.

Are there any restrictions?
