I haven't been to Universal since a decade ago, and I've never been to Islands of Adventure. Any idea opinion on which park would be the most fun to visit?

Thats a very general question, both parks have a lot to offer.

Do you like thrill rides, and would you have any children with you?

I will be going with my friend, only. We're both in our twenties and enjoy thrill rides. The only thing I was worried about was whether Islands had enough to justify the price of entry. Anybody have opinions on the amount/quality of Islands?

IoA has the most that you would probably like to do. You can view all the rides on a map of the parks if you go to Universal's website.

There's PLENTY of things to do at Islands, and it's up there with my favorite theme parks in Orlando, if you like thrills don't even ask, just GO!! You wont be disappointed!!

You really need to get the 2 park hopper pass so you can go to both, but if you have to choose one it would definitely be Islands of Adventure, the old park is great and has added tons of things since you've been, but i still think IOA is the best. I think IOA is the best park in the world.

IOA is great for thrill rides.

You could always do both in one day? Pop over to Universal, do the thrill rides, then do IOA the rest of the day?

islands of adventure~! it's so fun there. they have great rides, great food and great drinks (alcholic and non alcoholic). The themes are spectacular from land to land.

Actually, I went to Universal's site today and they are having a special. The "2-Park Unlimited Entry" Pass (lasts for seven days) is selling for $83 a ticket. This beat the 110 or so that the 2-day/2-park pass was going to cost, so I snatched it up. I'm also into atmospheric rides. I really loved E.T.'s Adventure when I was a kid, as well as Back to the Future and King Kong. Too bad they got rid of Kong.

I love both parks, but if I had to choose only one I would say Islands of Adventure. The Hulk coaster is the best!

Both, don't make me choose! :teeth: I love IOA for the thrill rides/character theming but Universal has the excellent Beetlejuice and Horror Make-up Shows and JAWS!

Can you explain this pass to me a little better? lol I know that sounds stupid. But are you saying you can purchase a ticket for $83 that gives you unlimited admission for 7 days to both parks and it is only $83 a person?

Is it a pass you can purchase now and use in a year. We are thinking of going next summer.

Sorry it took so long to respond. From what I understand, the pass offers unlimited access to both parks for seven consecutive days following its first use, and is valid until it is claimed at the electronic distribution unit at the park. This means it should be valid until after you've used it up. Hope this helps.
