Universal Offsite Hotels

Thought I'd try this forum:

We will be hitting Universal for a a few days before AKV. I will have an ecv (scooter), but we don't want to have to rent a car to get to US/IOA as I'd have to get a smaller one to break it down and fit in the trunk.

I know there's a boat to the parks from the the Universal resorts but they are super pricey. Is there an offsite resort that is a good neighbor resort with US so you can still get early IOA access, but has accesible shuttle or is walking distance?

Since you are asking about offsite hotels, I'm going to move this thread to the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board. It really doesn't have anything to do with Universal.

I don't think any of the offsite hotels offer early entry into either park. Sometimes Universal offers a vacation package, including hotel stay at a good neighbor hotel, which offers early entry into HP.

I don't think any of the offsite hotels are easily walkable to IOA.

Posters in the forum you originally posted discuss Universal offsite hotels.
There is even a "sticky" discussing a deal at the Doubletree near Universal. You might search, and even browse back a few pages, in that forum. Hopefully posters with good information will follow this thread to this foru.

Booking a vacation package through Universal gets you early entry into HP but probably doesn't give you the absolute lowest price available for the hotel.
In other words you could probably get a lower price if booked the hotel at a discounted rate and bought your own tickets. Price it out and decide if the early entry into HP is worth it.

The best price guarantee only applies to identical packages. It specifically excludes pricing items desperately in order to make a claim.

You might check for discounts on the onsite hotels. The hotels are as nice, in some ways nicer, then Disney deluxe hotels. Sometimes you can book the hotels for a price similar to what Disney charges for moderate hotels.
