I have a Disney package rn that goes through the 26th of November. I'm wondering if I should add one day to the package (we have free dining) and do that last day and checkout day at UO and IoA .. or would we be better off checking out and securing a hotel offsite. I'm thinking food costs could be waived if I just continued a day on my Disney package.

Suggestions?

If you have the dining plan it has to be for the length of your stay unless you do a separate reservation (split stay)

I know; but say my stay is November 21 - 26 currently. I could just add the 27th to the package and still have free dining for the night of the 26th correct?

Here's the itinerary I'm planning on,

Nov 21 - arrive; MK until MVMCP then dinner at either Ohana or somewhere in DTD
Nov 22 - DHS or AK then MVMCP
Nov 23 - Epcot
Nov 24 - MK (it's my dd,s birthday so I want this to be a MK day)
Nov 25 - DHS or AK
Nov 26 - UO and IOA with park hoppers
Nov 27 - checkout

If you're spending two days at UO, would you really want to *have to* go back to WDW to eat, though? Free is great, but you'll be going back and forth just for dining.

Yup...ditch Disney and head to Universal for a couple of days. It's going to be crazy crowded that weekend so if you can stay onsite, it will be a huge help. You won't be able to do everything in both parks in a single day on 11/26 without Express passes and those will be expensive.

It's tough to beat the advantage of staying onsite at Universal and getting the free unlimited express passes especially at a busy time, so I agree best to stay onsite. The only real advantage I could see with your plan is if you wanted to have the extra table service credits for signature dining. We will be going earlier in the month and staying onsite at Universal first then on checkout day spending day at Universal then going to MVMCP thereby saving on one days WDW ticket and giving us the option of extra credits for later in the week.

Question regarding express passes. If I stay two nights onsite at universal will I get two days worth of express passes? Our flight will be coming in late the first night so not able to do any parks that day. But want to do the parks our check out day. And will the hotel store your luggage for you while at the parks on check out day? Thanks!

2 nights onsite means your EP is good for three days. You will only use two because of your flight situation.

They will hold luggage on checkout day, of course.

yes.

hotel perks give you early entry into the park one hour before official opening time and unlimited usage to the express lines in the parks.

this feature is valid for the day you check into the hotel and out.

valet will hold your belongings once you check out.
after the park closes or if you are done at city walk, return to the park and pick up your belongings.

if you stay 2 nights onsite, you will be allowed 3 days of the hotel perks.
