you can get both rooms with the ap rate since you need the additional room due to the 4 littles/kids.

right, I get that. I'm wondering if the AP works as a ticket for one of us.

yes, the ap is the ticket for the person that bought it.
can be used for both parks, discounts, etc., for one year from when first used at the ticket gate.
