Included in this layoff are several key operational entertainment folks - the ones responsible for show (Sindbad, Horror Makeup, etc.) and entertainment (street performers, etc.) quality, and UO plans on putting this responsibility into the hands of less-qualified folks. Oughtta be interesting to see if the entertainment portion of the UO experience suffers.

sounds more like they combined some operations and some of them lost that turf war.

30 vice presidents is just a bit much no matter how your company is structured. :smooth:

3 Directors... hmm... interesting.

Attendence is not to blame for this according to the article. It is good to see that attendence at Universal increased last year, while Disney's dropped. Disney's refusal to discount park admission is really hurting them IMHO. One of these days they will wakeup and respond to the competition they ignore.

Yes. ALL three of them.

No more show directors.

Their former duties now fall into the hands of the stage managers, most of whom have had no prior theatrical experience.

That doesn't worry me so much for the current casts, but there are going to be LOTS of cast changes in the next month with a LOT of new people trained into roles and without a director, only bad things can come of this.

Now, now... the stage managers are going to be attending some seminars and workshops to teach them how to direct. <--insert sarcasm here

Disney has openly said they don't have any competition. All of Disney's Theme Parks Dominated over all the Universal Parks.

As long as you have 14 Million people going to a Disney Park and 5 Million going to a Universal Park, Disney will continue to Dominate Universal.

Disney will always be bigger then Universal and nothing will ever change that because Disney represents Legacy, Tradition, Family & Magic. With that they will always be #1.

I always hope and prey for Universal to take over Disney but it will never happen.

Disney is making terrible choices and their parks will suffer but never still beat Universal.

I would hope to see IOA beat the Animal Kingdom but that will never happen. (Animal Kingdom is way better then IOA, we all know that.) I still cannot believe that AK does better business then USF & IOA.
