Universal Land and Sea shows.

Just putting a huge thanks to the Universal team and their shows about the land and sea very informative and a nice look into universal hotels.

Again thanks that was an awesome week of shows

Yes it was simply wonderful. I enjoyed every one but especially Cabana bay. I also enjoyed having Pete chime in as well, Just really well done by the Universal team.

Guess "RHIP" (Rank Has Its Privileges) - or - he's the boss - and - hey - he pays for the rooms they all stay in. It all works.

I agree, the Universal team is doing an excellent job. Craig leads the show well and his dry humor is fun and he counters that with being very fair and knowledgable I'm not a Universal person but I have to admit my interest has been peaked to give it another try. Last time I was there was in the early 90's.

I enjoyed the shows. I was really confused by the cruise show. I've never been on a Disney cruise, so all the comparisons meant nothing to me. Just left me confused.... sorry.....

I really enjoyed these shows. Pete did really well sitting on the sidelines and letting Craig lead though you could tell he wanted to take over occasionally. It is funny that despite how nice and the praise that the team gives to the other resorts that they obviously are the most excited about Cabana Bay.

I've been to Cabana Bay I can completely understand their excitement.

I love this resort so much.

I guess I don't get the nostalgia thing poel have for cabana bay, It's like the swan and dolphin I don't get them and don't want to stay there but to each there own.

I'll be completely honest: the (lack of) proximity and lack of express pass mean Id never stay at CB.

Actually CB is a five minute bus ride from Citywalk. This is not like Disney where everything is so spread out and you would Not be that far from RPR. In fact the walkway goes right to RPR and then cuts over.

As for the express pass, Unless you're traveling at busy time you really don't need it. Plus you do get early entry to Harry Potter and you can't use express pass on Forbidden Journey or Gringotts anyway.

I hope I really don't offend anyone with this post. I just think it is a lovely resort and wish people would give it a chance even if it does not have express pass. But I can see the point if they are there during the summer or holidays. I used to be a hardcore Disney hotel person and CB as well as RPR have really just turned me around.

Not offended, but I've been and the walk from the bus dept to the parks is a decent one compared to the beautiful stroll along the water from RPR.

I think I was just lucky been there in January and September and express pass would have been a waste of money at those times because the park was pretty quiet. I was able to walk on most rides during that time with the exception of Gringotts and FJ.

But I do completely understand using it in March. Lots more people on spring break. And the parks are much more busy.

Craig did a great job leading this... The CRUISE segment was so important. My parents had their first cruise on that ship over spring break and loved it. However - just like the team said... They are in their early 60s and had no kids with them.

I had considered that ship since it is 75% the price of many of the Disney Dream sailings. However - after hearing from the Universal Team - I'm 100% thankful we did Disney considering we had a 9 month old with us.

I WILL consider the RCL for a cruise with just my wife and no kids.

I found the discussion about the cruise to be fascinating. Especially given that the conclusion was that the cruise itself was not terribly family-friendly. If Universal wants to actively market a "Land and Sea" package with the expectation that people will spend 3 days at Universal and 4 days at sea, they are going to have to do a much better job of getting families on board, both literally and figuratively. When Disney did land and sea packages back in the days of the Big Red Boat, and then with the original launch of DCL, it seems as if the cruises were very family oriented--the people on the ships were people who had previously been at WDW, or were headed there after the cruise. As a result, there were lots of families on board. The cruise that the pod team took seems to have been a 4 day booze cruise that was unlinked to a bigger package. Not sure if there is any way that Universal can mandate that people on the cruise also spend 3 days at Universal. But unless and until they do, it is likely that the cruise portion will always be a 4 day getaway for adults and families had better watch out.

But above all....great job, team. The hotel reports and the cruise report were stellar.

I loved all of it, mostly because I can never afford any of them, well...maybe Cabana Bay one day...so it is sure nice to see and experience it all with the help of @Teleclashter and his merry band for Dis-ers.!
