Here's our WDW itinerary for our honeymoon in Oct '05. We have two free days, one of which will be a resort only day. For the other free day, I basicly want to play it by ear, either stay at the resort or go to one of the Disney parks or a waterpark.

But then I got to thinkin' (always a dangerous thing!). DF hasn't been to any of the other parks in Orlando, and I really enjoyed both Sea World and IOA on previous trips (before we met!). We both really LOVE thrill rides, the one thing WDW lacks (MS, RnR, and ToT are great, but that's about all WDW has...) But our short (for me!) trip really has us packing a lot of stuff in. Given how busy the rest of our itinerary is, should I plan on going to one of the non-Disney parks for our one free day? Here's the itineary:

Day 1) Arrive and check-in at GF by about 4 PM. Change and head to MNSSHP.

Day 2) Full day at MK, park closes at 8 PM (according to historical hours, which are usually accurate), so it will be an early bedtime.

Day 3) This is the free day in question. Either one of the Disney parks, one of the non-Disney parks, or a waterpark, weather permitting. Or if we are too tired, just a resort day, maybe heading to DQ in the afternoon or evening.

Day 4) Full day at Epcot.

Day 5)Resort day, evening will be dinner at DTD and Cirque.

Day 6) Full day at MGM

Day 7) AK till 1 then MK. Unless we did AK on Day 3, then we will do either MK all day, or another park in the morning and park hop to MK in the PM. Stay for Wishes and Spectro.

Day 8) Go home :(

What do you think?

Last year was our first time going to US/IOA and we loved it!!! My DH loved the thrill rides and although a different environment than WDW it still has great theming. I would definately go!

I would definately try to do USF/IOA or Seaworld, all 3 are great parks in my opinion

If you love thrill rides, I would go to IOA or USF. If you don't mind an hour drive, you could also go to Busch Gardens. We just went and this was by far my DS15's fav park because of the wild roller coasters, his second fav was IOA. All 3 parks are fantastic.

I love beginning or ending a WDW trip with a couple of days at IOA/USF - but you say this is your honeymoon trip. Will you be a bit tired after all the build up to your wedding day? If it were my honeymoon, I would plan the in between days as totally 'down' days - sleep in, breakfast in bed - relax by the pool or maybe over to the waterpark for a few hours - resort hop for a massage and/or a nice lunch :goodvibes - visit a club or two at DTD in the evening, spending some precious time alone (that's hard to do in the parks!) - I would save SW, IOA/USF for another trip and come home relaxed - whatever you decide, you will have fun - Congratulations !! :smooth:
