Hi,

We've never been to Universal/IOA and would like to go on our upcoming trip in September, is it really busy then? Also, would it be worth getting Express passes?

We're hoping to go last week of September and first week of October. Thanks!

Personally, I wouldn't fork out the extra for the Express pass in September/October. We went the last week of September last year and, as long as you get there early, you can do/see most things with little or no queue.

Certainly at IOA, the park doesn't start to get really busy until about 10 or 11 am and it was never that busy when we were there.

The only reason to buy the Express pass would be if you wanted to try and do both parks in 1 day or if you planned to visit at the weekend. If you're going during the week and you can get there early, I wouldn't bother.

DH and I have gone during September for years, and it's empty. We've stayed on and off site, used FOTL and not used it. All the kids are back in school here in the states and it's the height of hurricane season, so it's truly empty.

Have fun!

P.S. You don't have to buy Express Passes at the gates. Hit a few rides, see what the lines are like. If they're long (which they won't be in September), go into a store that sells the EPs.

we are going for the first time in mid september. is it really fun? a lot of family rides? thrill rides? shops?(lol)

The only time we needed/used an express pass on our last trip was to get in Shrek late afternoon, other than that practicaly everything was walk on.
