Wow, I'm an avid poster over in the Disney forums but didn't even realize there was a Universal Section on the site! Anyways, what kind of crowds should I expect on Sept. 20th? I haven't been to Universal since it first opened and my wife and I are planning a quick, one day trip (no kids!!!)

Also, what kind of recomendations do you guys have for local hotels? We're only staying one night and kinda' looking at rooms under $100 per night.

Holiday Inn Express Nearest Universal (thats the name if you look it up) is really nice & they have a good breakfast. We got a room there in Sept for $81/night

Thats a Saturday.HHN does not start till the 26th,school is back in for everyone. But the weekends seems to still draw larger crowds (mostly locals) and if there is any conventions going on at the time,it might get busy.

Check out the US website and see what the express passes are going for.If they are cheap, they are expecting low crowds.

Now if your a FLA ressie, you can get the ressie rate and stay on-site at RPR for about $140 a night. You will get FOTL access and alot funner time.

Do some reaserch on the US web site and let us know what you come up with.:thumbsup2

I doubt you would the EP for that weekend. You can always purchase it at the parks if the lines get too long for you.

I already have my tickets though and they were free tickets won from a TV station. Can you still purchase the EP even for those or is it a special ticket?

Anyone can puchase the Express Plus pass...it's a separate ticket.

Thanks for the great info. I checked the price of the EP and it's only $25.99 per person for the 2 park EP. I guess the million dollar question (or maybe $51.98 question) is would the crowds be busy enough to merit buying 2 of those passes if my wife and I are trying to hit most of the attractions at both parks in a single day?

I would say no but you will have to make that decision. I would NOT purchase the EP's until you arrive and see how the lines are for yourself.

Sounds like a solid plan. Can you walk around the parks and then decide to buy the passes or do you have to do it prior to entering the park(s)?

The EP passes are sold throughout both parks, so you may check the parks out & the lines before making a decision.
