Looking at the weather forecast it seems like we have a high chance of rain all three days that we are at Universal. How easy is it to do Universal in the rain? Do they shut down most of the rides? We have done Disney many times in the rain but this is our first trip to Universal so feeling very uneasy. Thanks

Universal has a lot of indoor attractions including simulators.

Indoor examples:
  • The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
  • The Cat In The Hat
  • Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem
  • E.T. Adventure
  • Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts
  • Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
  • Hogwarts Express
  • Horror Make-Up Show
  • Men in Black: Alien Attack
  • Poseidon's Fury
  • Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon
  • Revenge of the Mummy
  • Shrek 4-D
  • The Simpsons Ride
  • Transformers: The Ride-3D
The Skull Island ride takes a different path during bad weather (skipping the outdoor portion).

As PP listed, plenty to do in the rain. More than most Disney parks, IMO. Just make sure you bring a good rain jacket and waterproof shoes, if you can!

We had a full day of rain in the summer so it was warm. Wore sandals. Did not use a plastic poncho. Just ran from one indoor ride to the next. A rainy day in a theme park beats any day at work.

I was there on Sunday and it started raining around 1/1.30. Hulk was still operating in a light drizzle (stung my eyes!), but RRR had closed by the time I got there (rain was slightly heavier then).
