We were planning on going to Universal in April, but after checking out airfares, the prices are ridiculous. We went to Disney in August and after the heat and rain, we are not sure about going over the summer. Does anyone recommend going at the end of June versus going at the end of August? Are the crowds worse in June or August, the heat, rain, etc... Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

We went the last 2 weeks in August and the crowds were very light.

I understand most of the US schools are back then so I think that makes a big difference.
The weather was very hot, in the low 90s every day with the usual evening thunderstorms.

It is a long time since we visited in June but the crowds will be heavier then, and it will be just as hot although probably not as much rainfall.

I would go for late August.

It all depends.

June is less crowded as kids are just getting out of school. Records and averages are here.

Temps seem to be about the same, it's hot in the afternoon.

The first two weeks of August are the most busy time of the summer season. The last two weeks of August are great because kids are back in school. The thing is, Universal knows this, and they cut back the closing hour to 7pm or so.

If you want to see fireworks, you go from July 4th, to the first two weeks of August, and the parks stay open late. If you don't care about late closing times, then go in June, or late August. September is even better, the place is a ghost town after the holiday.

May is also a good month, temps are cooler, and kids are still in school. Only thing here is the school field trips.
