We have never been to universal/IOA and we are considering a weeks trip early january (ex. jan 2 - 8 ) How are the crowds? Whats the average wait time for rides during these dates? Thanks!

As long as you skip Martin Luther King weekend the crowds should be light. We've been there 3 of the last 4 years and the only crowds were this year over MLK.

Last year we rode the Mummy and Spider Man 3 times in a row with virtually no wait on either.

January is a great time to go if you don't mind the weather (cool) and you want no crowds. No one is there to the point of it seeming barren. Like a ghost town. I hated going in January. You should practically have the parks to yourself.

We go every January as the parks are so quiet. BUT, as it is quiet, it's when they shut a lot of the rides for annual maintenence. You can find out on the Universal Orlando website what dates rides will be closed. They usually close either Ripsaw falls and Popeye and Bluto (though not at the same time).

Jan is deffinately quiet. Lots of Seasonal Maintaince and short park hours. But you should be able to do everything you want in that time. A Jan trip a few years back I rode on Fire on DD 9 times strait with no line.

Some attractions will have "longer" queues but you can breeze through them and get to the next quickly. May even have time to parkhop, if you skip some attractions.
