Hi I am from CA and we are making our 2nd ever trip back to DW this October.

I purposely left Halloween day open as I didn't want to go to the Disney parks (felt it would be pretty crowded). We were thinking about going to Univ or IA and wondered would they be a madhouse that day? Does anyone know?

Also it seems from what I read you have to take 2 days to see each place and if that's true should I go to IA if I've been to Univ in CA.

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh and I am taking my girls 4 and 5 so I thought they would like IA and we are going to univ in CA next year so thanks for any input!!

IOA would offer more things that are new to you, but USF is also different from USH when it comes to theming and attractions that USH lacks. It's actually possible to see both parks in a day, but you have to know what you're doing.

Thanks for that. So do they do a halloween deal and if so is it pretty crowded?

During the day, it isn't crowded even on Halloween. The crowd level picks up around 5:00 PM as those people who are doing Stay and Scream for Halloween Horror Nights start to arrive.

I would not suggest taking your 4 and 5 year old daughters to HHN. It is very intense and is not recommended for young children. It is nothing like MNSSHP. You won't see any dancing pumpkins at HHN but will see blood and gore. Many houses are based on some of the scariest movies made. In the past they have had Freddy Kruger, Michael from "Halloween", Jason from "Friday the 13th", a scary insane assylum, an evil prison, the "Evil Dead", scareactors roaming the park with "chainsaws" reminiscent of the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," wicked vampires and other very scary characters.

Thanks. Yeah we wouldn't do that at all. We ARE going to MNSHP though. Great so you think it would be safe to go to IA during the day as long as we are out of there by 5?

The parks aren't crowded at all during October. Going during the day should be fine.

We were there last October the week of Halloween and the lines weren't long at all, you would not have any trouble seeing all of IOA in 1 day, and the weather was absolutely perfect. Have a good trip.

Thanks's so much everyone!! We just went to SeaWorld this past April in San Diego but thanks for the info that looks neat. I think we are going to IOA. We have universal here so most likely we will do that next year. Thanks.

FYI-We were at Magic Kingdom last year on Halloween and the crowds were pretty light until late afternoon when the folks who were coming in for the Halloween party started to arrive.

Thanks Mart. I only bought 8 days worth of tickets and they are non-hoppers so we will probably do something other than Disney that day since the other days are already planned. But thanks so much for the heads up!! I am thinking after IOA I might take the girls to DTD to trick or treat.

No problem...just wanted you to know that in case that gave you better opportunities for scheduling your entire trip :) We actually went to DTD after leaving the park last year and really enjoyed watching all the kids in their costumes having so much fun! Have a great time!
