Universal Hotel Express Deal

Just curious is the Express Pass deal just an upgrade when you book one of the Universal Hotels or do you get admission and the express pass?

I priced out the cost of staying at Universal for a part of a trip and it came out pretty close if it includes the full admission but I'm starting to think it just covers the upgrade.

Hi! Unfortunately, staying at a Universal Hotel does not include admission You get the free upgrade for the express pass, though. The express is worth the price of the hotel, though (to me). And you also get the express for the days of check in AND check out. So if you book one night, you get two days of express.

Park admission is not included in the resort rates. Unlimited Express and early admission for HP are the perks for onsite guests.

yeah, the more I thought about the more it seemed strange to offer free entry. It was too good to be true. Still might go with staying at Universal for the first bit of the trip just for the ease.

Well, my question is...how did you price it out? If you were doing a package deal, well that includes tickets.

I've never gotten a package to be lower than doing it a la carte, FWIW. I like using this site to check all 3 hotels at once, by the way. you can have fun with it and try the APH code to see if there are AP rates for your time. If so, do the math for upgrading one person in the party to an AP and see if the total works for that idea.


It's funny to me, to think of the Express Pass as being an "upgrade". It's just something that goes with the hotel, to me. One of their features.

the hotels are owned separately from the parks.

hotel perks include the unlimited usage of the express lines in the park except for special ticketed evening events, early entrance to ioa, charge back to hotel for food and merch in the parks, park purchase delivery to your room, priority seating for some of the city walk restaurants, and pool hopping.
