Universal Hotel Discounts

Hello, while I have been a Disney vacationer, I am planning my first trip to Universal Orlando next year. Generally, Disney offers discounts beginning in February for summer stays. My question is, does Universal do something similar. I am planning to stay end of May/beginning of June. Is there a time they offer discounts for those dates?

Alternatively, any nearby hotel recommendations? I am really trying for under $175 a night....but that isn't set in stone.

Can't speak to sales (I don't follow UOR close and have only seen AP rates and vacay package offers) but do know that unlike Disney UOR's hotel rates are dynamic- so keep checking. Saved $40 on a one night Aventura stay in Sept by checking prices often a couple months before my trip.

I would price it out now. See what's available. Their lower end onsite hotels should be within that price range. If you find a good price, book it as a room only - you pay a 1 night deposit and it is fully refundable until 5-6 days out. Then keep an eye on deals / rates, and if you see a better deal either modify or rebook the new deal & cancel the old reservation.

Consider that the onsite transportation options are efficient and free, so you wouldn't need a car or Uber. That might swing onsite pricing even further in your favor.

Agree with the above advice, but if you go down about 5 threads someone posted about a sale on rooms but I don’t think it extends to your dates. So it happens occasionally but I haven’t seen it often.

Depending on how many days you plan to go it might be worthwhile to get an AP which would come with room discounts.

Just remember to check blackout dates for your trip!

General advice for universal is book as early as possible when you find a rate you are comfortable with. You can always cancel and rebook if you find something better, but the rates definitely will go up significantly as you get closer to your date.

I second this. A few months ago my daughter booked a room at Terra Luna in January for $81 per night. The current rate is $149.
