Universal hotel discounts?

Does anyone know of places with good discounts on the universal hotels? I know there are some places that have steeply discounted Disney hotel prices - are there similar options for universal that someone can point me too? Particularly I would be looking for a good price the last week of August (found a good labor day deal for the Disney part of the trip).

Best deals are with Universal with a long stay. You get the stay more save more rate.

Or look for the AP (Annual Pass) discounts for the hotels. The AP discount though does require you to have at least 1 person with an AP.

Thanks, it does look like the lowest price AP isn't any more than a 3 day park to park ticket so this would work. How do you book with an AP discount though? I saw a sticky from some years ago that said to go to Loews and enter APH into the promotions spot. I tried that though and the price didn't go down at all.

@jkattk - How far out are you looking? APH rates are only out through the end of May right now.

It is still a good idea to make a reservation as soon as possible at the best rate you can get now. Then as the dates get closer, if they offer AP rates for your dates and they are better than what you have, you can change your rate. If they don't offer the AP rate (for whatever reason) or the room type you want is sold out, then you are still locked in with your current rate.
