Can anyone tell me if the USH vip tour is worth the extra hundred dollars? Thanks.

If I don't go, I still plan on getting Front of the Line pass, as I only have one day to spend there! Thanks.

My sister & I are doing the VIP experience at the end of November. When are you going? If you're going after this month, I'll let you know if it's worth it.
BTW- I've only read positive things about it.

I'm not planning on going until next year... Just a compulsive planner! :rotfl:

i know this thread is a bit old, but I did the VIP tour back in 2005 and it was totally worth it for me (not to mention I sold off my AP voucher and gained back some of the investment).

just about the only thing we didn't do on the tour was the makeup and fx show - the guide felt it was worth skipping. i did see it later, but i probably could have gone without it. i was able to ride both jurassic park and ROTM multiple times as well.

it's been revamped since then for the better so i'm planning on doing it again in april.

Thanks ... I've decided to go for it. The only day I'm free is a Sunday (August), so the Front of the Line pass will come in handy! I can't wait only 7 1/2 months to go!

I thought it was. We got to see everything without waiting in long lines (a super plus since the park was jammed full)

Plus we got our own studio tour trolley and got to get off at the Bates Motel and the War of the World sets. That was really cool. Plus we got to visit the sound rooms where they do voiceover work, and the prop warehouse.

And when we went we also got a season pass!

I guess I will be the anti of this thread. For us, it was worth it x 2. Vip lounge, never waited in line for anything including lunch. Tour guide Tim was awesome, you ask for it you got. We were allowed into many sets to walk around and look. Family got meet 2 of the DHW stars( do not have a clue who these people are) but my DGF did.
All of us being big horror movie buffs, it was amazing, just even going into the prop warehouse.
If you want to feel like and be treated like you are a VIP, this is a must do. It was mid week, August, place was packed to the brim and 104+ degree's.

Have a fun time,

Jack

Thanks Jack ... I booked it. Originally planned to go on Sunday and do WB on Monday, but decided to cancel WB. I'm now arriving on Sunday, do the Universal on Monday and do the ABD on Tuesday. Can't wait. The trip is getting closer! We leave August 10.

We should be there about the same time. I could go on for hours. it for Just make sure if you need something, the tour guide will geti t for you. I started wandering around inside taking pictures(one of the large sound stages) and they had to send a security guard to get me. Very cool to see how things actually work.
I did have the opportunity when I was going to USC film school to spend many hours on sound stages etc and meet many stars of the old days. Since my uncle was a producer for a number of companies I had the pleasure of having lunch with Haley Mills, her Dad and Walt. Great memories in Hollywood.

Have fun,

Jack

I just ordered the VIP tour today. We plan to book on to the tour on August 19th. I noticed that this year it says a gourmet lunch is included and not the all you can eat pass. Any ideas where the lunch is at and what you get?

My guess would be the VIP lounge. Large enough to make it work. VERY NICE.
