Universal Hollywood Hotels?

We are going to LA for the first time this April. We are spending a few days at the Disneyland Hotel then we would like to go to Universal Hollywood. Are there any resort hotels there like in Fla (we loved the HRH and RPR)? If not, are there any hotels within walking distance to the park? Are they nice?

I don't think so, otherwise people would talk about it here. I've never been, but driven by it. There is an express way next to it, and not much land near by.
I'd say to stay at your Disney hotel, and just drive up there for the day. You can try looking around this site for info.

There are 2 hotels (Hilton and Sheraton) that are across the street from the garage. You can either walk and then take the moving sidewalk or take the shuttle right to the park.

Hilton and Sheraton do not compare at all with the Orlando Universal Hotels. No theming, no FOTL and in the middle of a congested and tight area. That being said, they are very clean and nice quality hotels and it is very easy to walk across the street to Universal. While I would hate to check out of my cool Disney hotel and move over there, you almost have to. The traffic is a nightmare and, for me personally, not worth the stress. I have found that vacationing in LA is all about moving a couple of times and staying in the exact area where you are visiting attractions.
