Universal + Harry Potter...It's Official!

hagridshut.jpg

This got me thinking of all the great character possibilities through-out the Island. Hagrid is my favorite.

The possibilities are endless. My son wants to do this exact line of work (theme park design) and this is just making him wish he was done university and could get on with it!!!

It will be really fun to watch this project evolve.

Whomping willow? Too bad they can't move the Enchanted Oak and change it into the whomping willow. ORRRR....maybe that will be over near the new ride which I am thinking is the flying car ride. That would make sense since the car does fly into the willow.
I think it has to be a consideration to make the Enchanted oak the Whomping Willow! In the books they mention an underground entrance. It fits perfect.

I just got the 'official' e-mail! How exciting! This is going to be so INCREDIBLY cool! 2.5 years away though *sigh* ... How can one stand to wait that long :snooty:

damo, I can just imagine your sons excitement, this being his thing! He probably has endless ideas! Lots of fun and lots of insight as it does evolve.

Or how about a refillable glass of Margaritas from Margaritaville. Dang they make those Margaritas big.

Yummy! Aside from butterbeer I wonder what kind of concoctions we'll find at HP Island.

I know, they've got to do something during that 2.5 years. Attendance won't rise based on an announcement.
iVillage was a flop (in terms of a ride), Blue Man Group is just a show. They're going to hype the Simpsons, but that's just a face lift of an existing attraction. The suits think people will flock to visit based on the hype, but what fans want are new thrill rides.

I bought a disney AP just to see what Everest was going to be all about.....Harry Potter is bigger than everest.I think they will flock once construction starts. But my big question is what were they thinking with the opening of BMG just days away? Why not wait until July when the movies and the books come out? I dont think people are going to flock NOW to Universal. Though, ground has already broken on the new HP ride....right next to Flyng Unicorn. They just havent told anyone, and they havent done anything but removed trees.

This is very cool news
We have been to Disney twice, loved it
We are going to Universal for the first time this summer, very excited, especially about being able to walk to the parks and FOTL.
I personally think the magic comes from within you and the time spent with your family/kids
We are not big HP fans but it looks and sounds awesome.
I am just glad we will be able to go this year and then hopefully go back again when the HP theme is implemented.

iVillage was a flop in terms of a ride cause it was a show! I know what your saying though. I told my son we would wait to go back again when HP Island is completed. This from a family that travels from NY 3-4 a year to solely visit Universal. I figure we'll head back for HHN's though. Of course this is all subject to change since we just returned last week!:rotfl2: Honestly aside from Simpsons I don't expect any new rides until they unveil HP.:confused3

OMG! Thats too funny! Where did I leave my sorting hat.:wizard:
There is already a sorting hat at the park entrance. It sends the people from the Disney side of these boards to a separate special park where smoking, beer drinking trolls toss trash on the streets as they abuse the guests. ;)
