Today was our Universal day and we had three must do's: The Barney Show, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and The Nicklelodian Game Lab.

We arrived at the park at 9:00am after having our quick breakfast outside by the HRH pool. It was another gorgeous, sunny day. I love vacation!!

Since we had already done Shrek and Jimmy Nuetron, we headed back to MIB. We took the Hollywood road and walked passes the kid zone. This was a long, but lovely walk, as everyone was up front of the park. We did MIB and I got my best score yet 387,000!!! I was so proud.

We walked back over to Kid Zone to wait for it to open at 10:00. The kid's played in Fivel's Playland while Steve and I sat on one of the benches near the entrance. This place is great for parents who don't need to watch their little ones every second. Chandler is old enough to take Tatum around and they loved exploring this place together. Meanwhile, Steve and I had nice "grownup" time talking and relaxing in the sun.

We enjoy ET (what the heck is this ride about?), and then, here come's our big dissagreement. Steve and Chandler want to go to Curious George. There is only 25 minutes until the Barney show and Tatum and I want to save Curious George until after Barney so they can spend more time and enjoy it (maybe with bathing suits on). Now, the women reading this will be shaking their heads "yes". Of course you should do Curious George after Barney. If you only have 20 minutes, it will be too rushed and everyone will be mad a Mom when she makes them leaves to go see Barney on time". Men will be saying "no, no, it's fine. Do Curious George for a few minutes, and then head over for Barney and come back later if you need to do more". That is why men are wrong, LOL

We end up letting the kids do the ball part of Curious George, no water (Mom sulks on bench) and then going to Barney. We never made it back to Curious George to play in the water and Tatum will cry about this on the last day, when there is no time.:wave2:

Barney was cute as usual and the kids love Barney's backyard, even Chandler. Why do parents spend so much time filming mundane things at the park for so long? Do they ever watch this film? This one man taped his daughter watching the Barney show - just her face for 20 minutes!!

From here we see Woody, Winnie, Scooby, Shaggy, Curious George and The Man with The Yellow Hat. We get pictures but miss Curious George. Note: Every single character at Universal would play with Tatum's hair before a picture. They would stroke it, hold it, pretent to swing on it (Curious George), and talk about it (Shaggy). In almost every picture, look closely at Tatum's hair and one of the characters will be holding it - Tommie from Rugrats could not let go! It was really cute.

We have a bit of time before any other show, so we go on Jaws. This show is much wetter and much, much, more hot than I remember for past rides. Wow! Tatum keeps her eyes closed on this ride from the moment you enter that boathouse until the end.

It is getting close to the time for the Horror Makeup Show, so we head over there. We get in with express and are seated front row and center. Chandler LOVED this show, and Tatum liked it. She had to close her eyes during the movie part, but was fine once she figured out it was all for fun. Also, Steve (is that the guys name?) kept begging me to give him to give him mouth to mouth. Those of you who have seen this show more than once will know that later on in the show, I was squirted mercilessly with water. The kids really love that. Also, the older woman volunteer was really great, so it was a great show.

Next we head over to the Nicklelodian Game Lab (sorry if I'm not spelling this right). This is such a fun place, we didn't get to see it with the kids last time and they really enjoyed it. Tatum was a bit worried when she saw that kids sat separately from the adults, but she was fine because Chandler was with her. Chandler almost died raising his hand to be slimed but didn't get chosen. This is really a fun, interactive show and I would highly recommend it for anyone with kids.

We take the exit by the Game Lab to the Hard Rock Cafe and walk to NBA City. Steve was reluctant to try any other restuarant, because he was so disappointed in the HRC, but I convinced him. This food was good, not superb, but good. Tatum got Chicken Fingers, Chandler got.......A cheeseburger, Steve got a Steak and Cheese sandwich, and I got a pasta and chicken dish. It was all good. And the videos they show on the big screen are great.

Steve has a headache so we head back to the HRH for tylenol and rest. Steve looks like he needs some alone time, so I take the kids to run around in the courtyard. They have a blast and get some much needed exercise. After, I take the kids to get ice cream at E & B's. Yummy. The names are so funny that I can't remember what I got, but it was a mocha chocolate chunk flavor and I had some hot fudge on top - really good!

When we return to the room, Steve is ready to head for the pool, so we let the kids do some swimming while we have a few drinks.
Tatum is absolutely blue, so we give her a warm bath before we head back out to IOA. We do more Suess Landing and Spiderman again and then head to Toon Town and get the great idea of going on Popeye's. We go on and get soaked!!! Of course. And, I am annoyed. I am soaking wet and for some reason, I always seem to get the most water dumped on me. We are all to wet to enjoy anything, so we walk all the way back to the hotel, change and all the way back to IOA. Our feet are sore!!! I can't remember exactly what we did, but I know we did the Flying Unicorn and took some cute picures in Toon Lagoon, and spend our customary time in Camp Jurassic right before closing.

After the looooong walk home, we decided to have dinner in The Kitchen. This was really yummy. Tatum had a kids meal that included a huge chicken breast, broccoli, and mashed potato with gravy. She hardly ate any of it, but I was happy knowing she got a little bit more in her than chicken nuggets! Chandler ordered off the adult menu (he just eats too much to use the kids menu anymore) and had crab cakes. I told you he ate a wide variety of food. He loved these and they came with asparagus and homemade chips! I cannot remember what Steve had, I think it was a steak and he liked it. I can't remember what I had either, but I know it was good - sorry. Also, this is the only place except Margarittaville that has my beer - Amstel Light, so that is a big plus.

We make it upstairs and fall into bed exhausted - look what turn down service did, how cute!!

Stayed tuned for day 4. Here are the pictures from day 3, enjoy!

I was that front row centre person in the Horror Make-up Show as well. I wonder if anyone has actually done anything differently than sit there and not "save" the guy.

Hi Tonia! Do you think they ever show any games at NBA City or is it all just stock videos that repeat?

Mike and I LOVE basketball, and we were hoping that they'd have some actual games on there (hate to think we'd have to shlep over to the ESPN Bar at Disney's Boardwalk!).

Hi Jodie,
They were showing games, but they were on the smaller screens on the sides and not the large ones. But, maybe at night or if it is a big game, they use the large ones also.

Thanks so much for sharing sounds like such a good day and men wrong  never been wrong yet:tongue:

I loved the one of Chandler getting pulled by the dog, and the one of Tatum under the "Betty Boop, Eat your heart out!" She's a poser, isn't she! It is funny how they always play with her hair. Guess Blondes have more fun, especially with pigtails!
