I'm planning a trip to the orlando area this October. I'll have 10 days to play and was planning on spending all of them at Disney. Now I'm starting to think about spliting my time between Disney and Universal. I always hear about the thrill rides at Universal but what about stuff for the little ones??? Do you think my 3 yr. old would like the Universal parks????? Any help is appreciated.

My DS loved the parks as a 4yr old. He loved Seuss Landing esp the Cat in the Hat ride, One Fish Two Fish, the Caroseussel, and the water play area there. He loved the playground at Jurrasic Park, Me Ship the Olive, and Pteradon Flyers. He loved going to the Barney show (even though he never watched Barney before or since going). He enjoyed the playground right outside of the Barney theatre. Feival's Playground was great. He loved the Animal Planet show. He got much more excited about the Nick characters at Universal than the Disney characters. To name a few we saw Scooby Doo, Shaggy, Spongebob, Dora, Cat in the Hat, the Grinch, Curious George, Man in the Big Yellow Hat, Woody Woodpecker, The Flintstones and the Rubbles, Shrek, Fiona, Jimmy Neutron Etc. The Jimmy Neutron ride is fun-you may want stationary seating. Woody Woodpeckers coaster is like Goofy's Barnstormer. I would suggest staying onsite for front of the line access!!

I think Universal is great for little ones. The Seuss Landing area at IOA is just magical. Olive ship and the playarea at Jurassic Park are great too. At Universal my DS,4, loved ET, Men in Black, Curious George and Shrek. The thing I liked compared to Disney is no lines. My son rode Cat in the Hat 13 times!! The parks themselves are very well done too. I would recommend it highly.... especially if you have 10 days in Orlando. :sunny:

Thanks to everyone that has replied. I haven't made a decision yet. I already know that my son loves Disney so I'm a little worried about spending the extra money to go to Universal/IOA. I'm not going until Oct. so I still have plenty of time to make up mind.
