Hi, Everybody!

The DIS has a Ratings and Reviews page with VERY FEW reviews on the Universal Parks. :(

WebmasterPete would really like us to give our reviews on our FAVORITE places... yeah, I'm not PARTIAL...:p ... so if you have a moment click here and tell everybody how you feel about Universal. It'll only take a few minutes!

Thanks!:bounce:

I just noticed this thread today Robinrs. I tried to submit some reviews, but did not see how to do so, saw how to read previously submitted reviews.

Just click Universal Orlando, click the area and attraction you wish to review, then click add review.

Posted a couple reviews.

Do you intend to have reviews on the specific attractions?

I'd be happy to get you started if you do.

We will be going in January (just DW and I) and then again in May with all of us.

Well I reviewed the hot chick that was Betty Boop at IOA, she was cute!

We LOVE Univeral/IOA. My kids who are 15 and 10 would rather go to there than Disney anytime. Don't get me wrong Disney is ok for some, but for us it was basically for smaller kids who enjoy the up and down rides. Although we went on Rock and Roll RollerCoaster, SpaceMT, ToT,Splash Mt and the other rides that provide thrills which aren't many, we still enjoyed Universal Ioa much better. They had the option of going back this year, but opted to do something else. My 10 year old never wants to step foot on Disney property even if we do come back to Florida for UNV/IOA.

Well thats my .02 on Disney. :)

I just posted a review did i put it in the right spot is there another place ?? could not click on the link?

When I click the link that you supplied Robin, I get a blank page. Am I doing something wrong?

Just got back from Islands of Adventure (Thursday, 13 May 04). I used a military discount ($50.00 per ticket x 4). I was astonished at what that $50 buys you.

There are 10 major attractions at IOA. The best by far is the Dueling Dragons roller coaster attraction. The Cat in the Hat is the amazing attraction in that the wait to go on it is typically 30 minutes. For about 90 seconds of pseudo-amusement. And FearFall is just plain lame. Less than 45 seconds after a 25 minute wait.

Poseidon's Fury was closed for refurbishment.

We did a calculation of the time spent on the attraction (timed a bunch of them) and found that the ten major attractions involved less than 13 minutes of actual on-ride time. The Jurassic Park and Dudley Do-Right attractions skew the curve due to their longer durations. Flying Unicorn and FearFall are less than 45 seconds. With an average wait of 25 minutes that means over 4 hours of standing in line for less than a quarter hour of actual attraction time.

Aside from that, large drinks cost a mere $2.99 (plus tax).

Parking is $8.00. At least after 6:00 pm the cost is free, good for going to City Walk.

Recommendation: Spend the $$$ elsewhere. Some of the attractions ARE very good, but the waits and short durations don't justify the expenses.

This Ride Rocks. Disney create the same rides with new themes. Universal just creates whole new rides. See how it was reviewed here

People ran from the front gate after opening!

I'm finally adding some reviews but I don't see the Mummy. Am I overlooking it?

i agree entirely the mummy rocks
i have gone on it 26 times and love the effects and the airtime on the ride
the robots are cool too

i didn't go to many times on the mummy beacause at universal orlando, the ride always closing down but it is still my favorite ride. :confused3

Revenge of the Mummy is an indoor roller coaster like Space Mountain at Disney with far better visual effects. I like the indoor roller caosters because they are dark. Another thing if you go with a friend or family member that doesn't like roller coasters you can trick them into believing it's like the spider-man ride. man was my sister pissed when I got her on the ride, she later thanked me and told me it was now her favorite ride. :rotfl2:
