I am going to be in Universal Hollywood on May 2.
This is one of the fan fest nights.

Am I stupid or not? I can't see what the themes are on each of the nights. Or are all the nights got a mix of all the themes?
I'm a little confused.

I THINK each night is a mix of all the themes. I'm really only interested in Star Trek and Back to the Future but they both look pretty cool....been wanting my pic in front of the back to the future clock tower for EVER!

ah yes, I see I found some good info on Undercover tourist.
I am set on a red eye the night of the 2nd to Orlando from LAX, we are in uni hollywood for the day but am thinking of changing the flight to the next day to go to the fan fest. I'm only interested in BTTF and Nintendo.

Also, which ticket would I get??
I've already got a ticket for that day. There are so many. I guess I wouldn't need the early access one since I already have a park ticket? I'm finding it really confusing.

Agree it is so confusing, so many options. I think I might get the regular entry with express.

That you for that link…the best info I’ve seen so far! This event seems poorly advertised by universal.

agree, I found zero information on their website. I had to look elsewhere to get all the info I needed.
I still haven't decided if we will go yet, it means paying for a night of accommodation as well, as the red eye flight means we get to "sleep" on the plane (insert sarcasm)

I got a ticket for the first night

Should be there from EA until closing because I got express unlimited
I think we have decided not to go, I would have really liked to but the cost of the hotel for the extra night and it also means losing an entire day on a plane the next day instead of getting the red eye flight.

I live within an hour, so I get it

If this was in Florida or even like Texas...I would not come out to it

Its a cool event but would need to see it before spending 1,000 of dollars on making it out for it

Plus people like myself and others will be filming it, so at least you will be able to see most of how it works and if its worth it for year 2

I was already planning on a Disneyland trip starting on April 27. Once I heard about this I changed my flight from SNA to Burbank on the 26th and am going to spend a night at Universal, before heading to Disneyland…. So good timing

I am torn on what ticket to get though. I kind of want to get the VIP tour. I did a regular park VIP last year and really liked it. Even though this tour is suppose to get you everywhere. I’m kind of worried about missing the Back to the future thing that they are going to do if it doesn’t line up right.

They have said that several time a night they will recreate the scene where the DeLorean goes back to the future. That is something I definitely don’t want to miss, but with so many different start times for VIP I’m worried I might not be there at the right time… they also don’t even have any times or anything… not sure what to do. I wish they had more info

agree, the various ticket types and explanations of them is really confusing.

I would just get Express Pass.

Then you can do all attractions and go to BTTF area whenever you'd like

I actually ended up getting the VIP tour. I got a tour that starts at 5:40 before the event actually starts. I believe the dinner will probably come first… then we will go through the tour early and have time to do our own thing later on.

They did release more info about the back to the future thing… it sounds amazing, I’m excited.

They also have added thing since the original announcement. I think they added a wicked meet and greet.

On the negative side, I heard they canceled the drone show in Super Nintendo world.

I wonder if this forum will ever get a universal Hollywood section. I know an official hotel resort is being built and there are rumors of a major park expansion… which makes sense as to why they are adding hotel capacity… so I think the park will become a bigger deal in time… obviously they have a lot more in Orlando.

Maybe but.....with inflation jumping up so much I think they could delay the bigger plans after the hotel

I hope I'm wrong but this is why I push for expansion over hotels now we will have hotels but if less people are coming to the US and people in the US have less money for theme parks it will for sure hurt USH wanting to add more big attractions and new lands....I hope I'm wrong but could see the plans getting delayed like they were for Covid and sadly we all know that not only are the hard times bad for theme parks but it takes years for them to get back to where they were before

Look at Disney, they are building up now but it took them years after Covid to really get back into making things like whats happening in DTD now and what should be coming to DCA which even then...they have not promised anything I could see the Avatar E ticket being much less impressive just like how Avangers E ticket was also budgeted down to just another E ticket over something new and exciting

Back to Fan Fest have fun on the VIP Tour, I would assume you will have a few fun VIP only character moments and you should be able to see most of it in one night

I'm going night one with express and planning two hours in the BTTF area because it seems to see it all it will be almost impossible without having more time to walk to different areas and see what each character is doing in there zone of the backlot.

I would have liked to go on day one. I already had a Disneyland trip booked for the 27th - 2nd when they announced dates… and it just made sense to change my flight by one day and book a room at the Hilton for one night. I didn’t really want to do 2 nights there… so I’m going on night 2 . 🥺 it should still be fun though.

Yeah, The event if anything should run better as the event goes on.

I'll be going ont he last night and another night as well but mostly on night one trying to see as much as I can but its going to be hard with BTTF area, the attractions those are easy its the meet and greets im more worried about like Yoshi and Wicked characters

Do the express pass tickets let you skip the lines for the experiences like Star Trek and Yoshi? I bought them assuming it would for next Friday but it is all very unclear.

I know that on the BTRF thing they get you on the tram just like an express pass would. I went on a VIP tour. I didn’t actually end up going to any of the experiences more than once… I didn’t actually end use it for some rides though.

Its hard to say how crowded it will be because I'm hearing the first weekend had less tickets sold then the dates after

Express works on BTTF, Juju the Anime show in Dreamworks theater, Star Trek and D&D

It does not work for any characters so, honestly, it might not be worth it. But there is no way to tell until after this weekend but from last weekend express was not needed

Green Yoshi you need to line up 10 mins before he comes out and the Blue/pink one can take 60-90 mins to meet

Once Piece characters can also take 30-60 mins to meet and Wicked characters are about 15 mins or less
