I've seen that you can buy the Express Pass as an extra to admission. It's been a while since our last trip so was checking if you can still obtain a "fastpass/express pass" from a kiosk for individual rides with a regular admission ticket (not universal site resident) as you could back in 2006. :confused3

No, there is no longer a free Express Pass for rides at Universal. For many years now (and I could have sworn that when we first went in 2004 it was the same), the onyl way to bypass the lines is to stay at a Universal onsite hotel or buy the Express Pass on the day (or in advance - although I wouldn't recommend buying in advance unless it is peak season as you never know how busy the park will bein reality, on any given day).

Unfortunately free passes similar to fast passes no longer exist. We've opted to stay one night in a Universal hotel for FOTL privileges - the passes alone are around $120 for the two of us for our dates for one day, and we needed a hotel for one night anyway so for us it made sense.

We ve always booked a hotel for a night just to get the express passes as the room gives us time for a few drinks in city walk in the evening. This time we are thinking about buying them on the day.
