Can someone help explain what all the different terms mean at Universal--what is Universal Express, what if FOTL, who gets early entry, which things are for on-site guests only, are there some things a "hopper" ticket gets that a single day one doesn't?

We will have ONLY one day to spend at Universal and/or IOA first week of June. Family of 5-currently staying off-site but trying to understand what it's worth to stay on-site (won't be in room much, just to sleep and shower so don't care about fancy hotel, etc)--also want to understand options to park hop to see a little of both but don't to waste money on buying two day tickets we're not likely to use.

Any thoughts, help, etc would be appreciated.

Hi, peppersugar.. Love that name!

Here's a link to Barry's post about "how to get in FOTL"... Click Here

I personally think that FOTL is worth the price of the onsite rates, but if you do choose an off-site venue the Holiday Inn on Kirkman has suites which will accommodate of family of your size.

Webmaster Adam posted on the new One Day, Two Park tickets for sale now at the parks. Not sure when you guys are going but this is for a limited time.

Hope this helps!

All I can add is that FOTL is fantastic, you can get 5 in one room, the rollaway is free, withent. rate if you can get it for around$120 it will be worth it. You also get FOTL for both check in day and next day so for at least one night would get two days FOTL. My wife is disabled so with her guest pass last year we were sort of poor mans FOTL, the regular lines in june were like an hour during prime time, once you don't wiat you never go back, think I'm just getting to old to broil in the sun for an hour. My most vivid memory was at MK last year we overslept and didn't get there til like 10:30 or so, we skipped the line for splash mountain and rode it twice in ten minutes and I told the kids we had just made up the two hours we slept late. It also allowed my wife more time to rest her bad knees yet probably did at least two days worth of rides in a day.Personally, I would be surpprised if they asked for the ent. card when you got there, as a frequent traveler I can tell you that you negotiate wwhen you make the reservation, the pc just spits it out at the desk and you sign in and it's done, good luck..
