Universal excitement

Something else we did - get Kelly Monahan's book, and look for all the great tips.

Also - especially for the kids - try to get the Universal Orlando for (or with?) Kids - I can't remember the author - but it was really great for my DS. He is ten (he was 9 last year, the 1st time we went to Universal) and it helped him to get excited, and plan exactly what he wanted to see, and in what order.

Both books are fantastic for "excitement building".

DNSDisney - it's okay to be a Disney Girl. But you will also be Universal Girl after your trip. I'm so jealous - you get to experience the Revenge of the Mummy. I wanna go!

I had a lot of fears heading to IOA/US being a Disney Girl myself, but I gotta say, I was impressed.

Very Impressed.

We are headed there next week and I cant wait!

I do want to add that Universal is NOT Disney. Universal has its own style and special magic and has little in common with Disney except for the fact that they both have rides and characters. I think that a lot of people go in expecting a Disney type of place and they end up disappointed.

Also, like others have said, Universal is not Six Flags either. Six Flags' strength is coasters and more coasters. They don't bother with theming or good food or nice CM's and the like. Universal only has a few coasters and does all of the other stuff like crazy.

I've been a Disney fanatic for what seems like forever. DS talked me into trying Universal last year and it blew me away. I will never go to Orlando again without visiting Universal.
