Universal crowds beginning of Thanksgiving week?

Our kids have the entire week of Thanksgiving off from school this year, and we are thinking about taking them to Universal for the first half (arriving Saturday the 19th and probably leaving Tuesday the 22nd). Touring plans has the crowds listed as a 7 out of 10, I believe. We will be staying offsite, and I had not planned on purchasing express, though I had contemplated booking a 1-night reservation at Royal Pacific to get the express pass (I'd rather save the money, though). Do you think we can see everything with a 3-day park-to-park in that time frame without the express pass? We have been to Universal before, but not since our kids were a lot younger. We want to spend A LOT of time in the Wizarding World this time :)

Thanks in advance!

Thought I answered a Tday question earlier
Must have been on another thread

Not home now and can't bring up the other thread on my phone
Will try later tonight when I am home where I will use my iMac

I saw a thread about Thanksgiving weekend, but we will be at Universal the weekend before Thanksgiving, probably up until Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. Thanks for any help you can provide!

I'm wondering about the same dates. Found such a good deal on CB that I would really like to be able to forgo the EPs. The crowd calendars don't look bad at all - in fact I didn't see hardly any predicted wait times over 30 minutes (except for Minions), and most things were more like 15-20, even mid-day. That seems too good to be true...

the week leading up to Tday is not bad.
nothing major from what i read.
no horrible crowd problems before Tday.

some posted in past threads that i read that wednesday evening more were arriving to the hotels.
Tday and black friday were doable days.
since you will arrive and be gone by Tday, i don't think you have a worry about crowds.

if you stay offsite, be in the line to get in the park a good 30 minutes prior.
you can get a lot done in the 3 days you will hit the parks.

check out the maps on the UO site so you get an idea of where everything is located.
rides, shows, restrooms, eateries, first aide, guest services.
getting familiar with the layout of the parks will be beneficial.

if you run into crowds you can use the SRL for shorter waits for rides.

if you find out predictions were way off and the park is a 9 out of 10 for crowds, you can buy the ep at the shops or guest services in the parks.
could be only one park has crowds and not the other so if you have p2p tickets, you can go to the other park for a time period.

potter main rides FJ and Gringotts have less line waits in the last 90 minutes of the park day

did find the thread Sunday of Thanksgiving week, where a few posted.

my post in that was:

i did a search to pull up threads that might help with your question.

opinions varied on the saturday/sunday after turkey day.

quite a few stated the crowds had rolled in on the weekend.
can't say that one day over the other was higher in crowds as what i read could not tell the difference if only saturday had the crowds or sunday.

would think that monday would be decent and have a very managable crowd.

this is one holiday i have not been at the darkside.
i stay away from the major holidays for most of them.
exceptions have been mlk, spring break, easter, memorial day, labor day, halloween

hope with my bump for this thread others will read and and help out with their experiences in the parks for the sunday after Tday.
