Universal AP - on-line v. in person

Good evening - I did a quick search and did not see this (the FAQ thread is HUGE).

I am a new Universal Team Member and my DH is going to purchase an Annual Pass. I know that TMs do not get a discount, so he'll be using the Florida Resident one.

We were planning on just purchasing an AP tomorrow morning (parking is free with my ID so that's not a concern). However, someone mentioned purchasing it on-line is a better deal?

I see that purchasing on-line includes a discount booklet? It appears the deals are the same as I get as a TM? Are there better deals I'm missing? Are there any additional benefits for purchasing on-line? Will I just print a confirmation to take to the window tomorrow or do I have to wait for a pass to be mailed?

Your dh can print the confirmation and just bring it to guest services with his ID.

I guess you can ask fellow TMs if AP holders get any better discounts than TMs.

Actually TMs do receive a discount on annual passes, at least on the preferred pass. You just have to go to guest services for it.

I you do purchase it online just have him bring his I'd and confirmation number. Also, TM discounts are better than AP discounts as far as I am aware.

Universal's comp entrance system is a bit different from Disney's. Universal TMs don't sign people in, they get physical comp tickets to give to friends and family to use so the TM does not need to go in with them.

Thanks everyone for the help - we purchased the pass on-line last night and picked it up this morning.

TMs do not get discounts on APs, we asked and were told no that the Flordia Resident Discount is the "new" TM discount.

TMs do get park hopper tickets, but I will not get mine until late October. We only get a limited number, and my DH and I will likely go more often than that number.

TMs get 15% off of the power and preferred pass... I don't know who told you that but that is a lie.

The passes TM's get are hopper 1 day 2 park passes...they get 3 every quarter I believe..
