Universal and volcano bay ticket question

Hey all! Planning our first universal trip in august. We would like to spend full 2 days at volcano bay (water park people) and two full days at universal/ioa and stay at cabana bay. What is the cheapest way to do this? Should we buy our volcano bay passes individually since we plan on spending 2 full days there and then buy the universal tickets separately? I know you can add on volcano bay to universal but seems like that might be more expensive since we’re not hopping between the two?

That's a tough question. I think your best bet is to go to the undercover tourist site and plug in your dates to see what the various prices are. Are you looking for park-to-park between US and IOA? I suspect with 2 days at VB you may still be better off getting the combo ticket, but you have to check prices. Looks like a 2 day park to park for US/IOA starts at $269 and a 4 day park to park with VB is $350. The 4 day base ticket with VB included starts at $302. But your dates could be different. I do not know how much 2 days at VB (OMG I just checked and a 1 day adult ticket for VB is $80!!!!) would be individually. (Later August is cheaper but park hours are probably shorter also.)

You probably do best to do 4 day one-park-per-day. You can see if they do another buy 2 days get 2 free promo - that would be ideal for you. Adding the 2 extra days to the base tickets is fairly cheap though even without the promo, it's the first day or 2 that are most expensive.

Thank you both! Did the math on undercover tourist and for right now it does seem the best option to do the 4 day pass!
