Who thinks they have worked out the ultimate day plan for each of the parks? I keep trying to work out where to start and my brain goes to mush. We are family of five kids 11 9 and 6 and with out wearing them in to the ground I want to cover off as much as I can in on each day.

We are only doing IoA, unless we upgrade once we're there. I am planning on hitting HP first, then Seuss Landing for my 7 y.o., then Superhero Island for my 10 y.o., then moving around the park clockwise, probably avoiding the water rides because we're going in December.

Are you staying onsite?

If so, you don't need a plan. You'll have plenty of time to do everything several times. Let the kids guide you...with unlimited express, your wait times will be so short.

This would be a better fit for the main board instead of the resorts boards.

I was pondering this question myself as we have never been to Universal and are going for the first time in mid September.

With Disney there is sooo much planning and I was curious to know if I needed to map out everything and have a touring plan for each park like I have for Disney.

We are staying onsite at the Hard Rock so, I am going to take from this that we don't need a plan because the lines won't be bad with our Unlimited Express pass.

So right now our plan is to start with HP and then after that where ever we feel like is good?

If you are staying onsite at Universal, there is no need to plan anything. You will get early entry and unlimited Express access which means very little wait times especially in mid-September. Check the website for rides you're interested in and then YouTube for ride videos. I think you will find Universal is much more relaxing than Disney and it will feel like a real vacation.

check out the UO website for both parks.
figure out what you want to do there.
you'll get an idea of where things are located by reading up on that site.

be sure to pick up the park map guide when you enter the park.
character meets, show times, etc will be listed in it.

that's it for basic planning
