universal all you can eat meal deal was great!

That you can eat as much as you want all day long at any of the participating restaurants. ;)

I think I answered my own question...

Unlike WDW instead of 1 meal for the day the meal deal lets me get as much as I want with the only catch being I have to keep going thru the line?!

Right?

I'll continue this off topic discussion on the Brazilian grops. We were also there July 4th weekend. On July 4th we went to US. On July 5th, DH and I headed out earlier than the rest of our family to meet them at IOA. We got off the boat around 10 AM and there was a wall of people coming from the parking lot to IOA. Seriously, it was a wall and it looked like it was never ending. It reminded me of the worst crowds Ihave seen at WDW. The wall of people were color coordinated with their T-shirts and I realized I forgot all about the Brazilian groups that are in strong force in July. There was less than a trickle headed to US. We walked over to the gates and the lines were huge!!! We figured it would take us at least 20 minutes to get through the gates. We looked behind us and saw the lines continuing to grow. We decided cal the kids to tell them to stay at the hotel and we headed back to the hotel to make it a pool day. I don't know if they had express passes but we weren't going to chance it. Guests at PBH were later talking about the crowds at IOA that day so we were happy we came back. We went to IOA on the 6th and the park was a breeze with FOTL that day!

We were at Universal June 26-28 and then again July 9-12.

Let me tell you...I didn't notice 1 single Brazilian tour group in June.

I noticed nothing BUT Brazilian tour groups in July.

Someone in our group was talking to someone ..or was it the paper? (darned if i can remember!) and they told us that July is their "off month" with school and such and they organize tours for that month. It costs each kid about $3K to come to Orlando. It includes ALL the parks, airfare, food and such.... While here, they stock up on electronics, perfume and clothing....trip of a lifetime is what I'm lead to believe.

And...you're right...they have NO manners. The "I'm never gonna see these people again I can be rude" thing got real old REAL fast! And the singing, clapping, dancing thru the parks....way too friggin' loud!... I'm on vacation...if I wanted to see a show, I'd go!

Think we'll avoid July from now on :rolleyes1

:confused3 We were thinking of doing the meal deal but wasn't sure if it was really worth it but after reading everyone's comment now it just might be but I have a question. We will be a family of five, 2A and 2K (8yr and 3yr) and yes both are good eaters :rotfl2: so in other opinions which would be better the 1 or 2 park deal??

Oh this will be our first time at Universal  so not familiar with any of the restaurants (or rides for that fact)...thanks for any and all info.

do you have park tickets for both parks ?
if so, you might want to consider it depending on the menus.

pull up the meal deal site on the uo website and check out the menus.
see if you can find at least 2 places that everyone will find something you know they will eat.

if you do both parks on the promo,it is a lot cheaper to do so rather than buy individual days.

i like the menus and places much better at the studios side. the food places are located near the rides i do all the time.
it is a personnal choice based on the menus.

btw: family of 5, 2A, 2K.............where's number 5?

IMHO the meal deal is not worth it, but then again we don't stop to eat all the time like the OP said. We are too busy having fun.
We found that we barely broke even with the meal deal eating just lunch and dinner and choices were too limited. We would rather eat at least one nice sitdown meal a day instead of settling for mediocer counter service food.
The meal deal doesn't even include the "good" counter service places IMHO...IE Enchanted Oak

I see that now it is possible to add on 1 CW counterservice per day but IMHO it isn't worht the upcharge considering you have to upgrade to the 2 park meal before you can upgrade to the CW meal.

By CW, I am guessing you mean CityWalk? Can you tell me where you found this info? I looked all over the UO website/ticket area and didn't see anything like this. Thanks!

Thank you! I would almost consider the add on as we are planning to eat a Pat O'briens--but it says:
Only one entree may be selected from a special limited menu and does not include dessert or beverage. Gratuity is included.

I would want to know what's on the limited menu first.
