I think this show sounds really good but I am going to hold off getting to excited about it, as all or should I say most of the people that live around universal are fighting it. Concerns about debree and setting there homes on fire. Hopefully they can work it out and have the show but keep the residents homes safe.
Double-checked, starts July 1; I couldn't find an exact time, but I'm almost certain it will be at park closing, which I guess will be pushed to 9 or 10. It isn't dark enough to do fireworks down here before 9 during the Summer.
Are they going to do them all summer long? We're going the last week of August and not expecting them to have it since they close at 6pm/7pm every night we're there. Don't want to get our hopes up.
Fireworks usually end by the 2nd week in August. That would mean that this year by looking at the calendar , I would expect the last day of the cinesphere show for the summer to be August the 12th.

phamton, you're always right on everything else Universal so I believe you, but are they really spending all that money for not even a month and a half of shows?!? Even assuming they will probably do something with the spheres for HHN and around Christmas, it seems like kind of a waste. Then again, I hardly ever remember the parks staying open past 8:00.
Fireworks are usually for a month and half in summer, during Christmas Break-New Years Eve and two weeks of Spring Break (and certain special events when the park is open for groups that have rented it out in the evening hours aftr park closing.) The parks aren't open as late as Disney and it is also in a residential area. I have no inside knowledge on how often they will use them but it would have to be used only after dark. The parks would have to be open in the evenings to see the projections. I hope they use them during HHN and also Mardi Gras even without the fireworks but I honestly don't know. But as far using them all year round, I think it is doubtful just because of the earlier closing of the parks. Park hours can be extended based upon crowd level or anticipated crowd level.
